2026 Elections: To the Midterms and Beyond!

So it's concerning when the DSA has some items you find concerning, but GOP hitching their wagons to the Heritage Foundation and Project 2025 isn't a problem?
That appears to be the case. I find it fascinating how no one has any issues with what the right does but if the left suggests something they go bananas.

Take someone in the DSA saying they wanted to "control the means of production" i.e. communism. Let's say it's that bad, and they meant it that bad.

Yet no one cares that the current President is fast becoming a trillionaire at some point at taxpayer's expense. And he spends all his time manipulating the market. No big deal. Oh, and when HE takes over an American corporation no one bats an eyelash.

And the DSA thing is all theory right now. Not reality. What the right is doing is real.

Yes, but he doesn't take a salary, so...

Here in MA, the first easily viewable debate between incumbent Ed Markey and primary challenger (current MA-6 congressman) Seth Moulton is tonight. (The first was on an obscure TV station that people could not get through many cable providers).

If you believe the polls, the race is tightening but it is always hard to unseat an incumbent.

I'll be voting for Moulton in this one. Some will say he is the more "moderate" candidate (by todays' standards at least) but their voting record is very similar. He can also talk very intelligently on foreign policy issues and would be a good one to advance up the ranks as part of the democratic bench. He also won't be 86 by the end of his term and has not been in Washington since before the Carter administration.

You people keep pointing out project 2025 and I keep agreeing that I also don’t like project 2025.

Are you all that blinded by your leftist ideology that you can’t acknowledge something in the middle or more nuanced positions?
The problem is you're coming off as not arguing in good faith, and you're getting treated as such.

I absolutely do want a happy medium. The problem is, and has been repeatedly pointed out, one side deals with absolutes, the other side continues to negotiate in good faith, gets shit rammed in their mouth, told to like it, and the absolute side still gets their way.

This you?

This is your "compromise," one side wants to murder, the other side wants to be treated equally as you and I. And your response to the image sums it up. You don't care. As long as it doesn't effect you, right? Fucking Libertarian.

Trans rights are human rights.
Black Lives Matter means they're equal.
Healthcare for all doesn't mean you don't get healthcare.
Women's rights are between her and no one else.
Green New Deal was to reduce fossil fuel independence and reliance on outside countries.

This isn't a fucking pie. Making others equal doesn't mean less for you.

Also, my leftist idealogy? I already told you my stance on border/immigration, you wet sock.

Bingo. Well stated.

you really are a douchebag aren't you?
I'd suggest you are the one not having a good faith conversation and are the one dealing in aboloutes.
Posting an image suggesting all republicans (and evidently any moderate democrats and independents) want to kill black people is lazy and certainly not in good faith.
But you have your far left ideology so anyone who does not agree with it must be stupid or a racist or doesn't care about other group and unless someone falls right in line you just resort to personal attacks. People like you are why democrats get painted in a bad light and will ultimately lose elections.

It's entirely in good faith. The most moderate Senators that are Republicans are Colins and Murkowski and neither of them having any problem killing black people. It's clear as day.

...

Weird. I never mentioned the "R" word, and the only ones in the image wanting to murder anyone were KKKlansmen. What a weird connection you made...

🤔

🤭

You admitted you you're the guy holding the compromise sign.

Worst thing I did was call you a Libertarian and you got super awfully "jump to conclusions" after that.

You realize you lose any sort of credibility when you make comments like this.

You genuinely don't know what your party has become, do you?

It's like talking to a German in, say, 1934. Late enough that the Enabling Acts have passed. Let's assume no hint of the genocide that is being planned, but still there's a book with a blueprint and it's a best seller. No, even better, an Italian under Mussolini, since the death camps distort everything and give neo-fasc an easy excuse to wash their hands of anything. Mussolini was racist but he thought the death camps were ludicrous and insane.

I want you to sincerely ask yourself a question. Don't respond to me, just ask it of yourself. If the worst was true. If what we are all telling you was true. But you had allegiances and you came armed with impenetrable defenses up. Then: how would you know? Assuming you are a genuinely good person, still, what would be a touchstone back into the real world that would stop you from being the infamous Good Italian in 1934?

You are in a cult. It is a remarkably large cult -- maybe 25 million. Of course there are 75 millions others who vote for the cult but are not champing at the bit to defend it, so let's say you are one of them. You can't see the prison you are in but everybody else does. You think you're privileged and know the truth. How would you know if you were delusional, unless you listened to others and maybe swallowed hard and made a brave self-assessment?

You are in a cult. It is a remarkably large cult -- maybe 25 million, at most 50. You can't see the prison you are in but everybody else does. You think you're privileged and know the truth. How would you know if you were delusional, unless you listened to others and maybe swallowed hard and made a brave self-assessment?
I see the party i have been voting for in recent years becoming further left / DSA - which I believe is both too far left to be good policy and even more concerning also a losing formula nationally.

Go ahead and watch the Megan Romer interview again - and take a long hard look. Do you really think that will be a winning platform nationally?

It is funny when a cult member (of which you seem to be) tells someone else they are in a cult.
