That was flying a month ago. The far-right press accused the NYT of burying it, but have yet to publish it themselves.

I don't see sexual assault listed on Platner's calendar so I don't believe it.

It's okay though. Susan has been reassured he's learned his lesson so his campaign is good to go. (y)

He ran knowing he had this baggage, risking exposure and the damage to the party and his constituents. He's not sincere; just another John Edwards type.

He needs to step down as nominee and give us a chance.

Is that even a possibility after the primary? doesn't even matter collins is in . I guess if he drops by july 13 they can replace him. Janet Mills, no fucking way, Shenna Bellows no fucking way, Jordan Woods, I could vote for him but being Gay kills him. Why even bother to give a shit.

I posted the day he announced he had serious baggage. I cannot believe there was so little due diligence done on him. I guess him being faux working class was too hard to resist.

There is no other candidate. He drops out and Schumer/the DNC/the DSCC picks Mills and we lose by 20 points.

You think there's a chance the DNC picks a progressive, working class fighter like Troy? Are you high?

I honestly don't know enough about Dr Shah even though he just ran for the gubernatorial nomination. I didn't bother because I knew he'd never win.

In theory, the Maine Democratic Party would pick the nominee, but we all know who actually would.
 
The Bangor Daily News reports that Troy Jackson has filed paperwork to explore getting onto the ballot if Graham Platner drops out. Platner appears likely to do that, as he has canceled all scheduled rallies through the month.

Should Platner drop out by Monday's deadline, the State Party has until 27 July to name a replacement. I've been told that the State Party will act independently of DNC and DSCC wishes, but we'll see. The MDP is much more likely to draft someone like Jackson while the DNC will champion Mills or some milquetoast centrist who will lose to Collins by 20 points, and then they can blame progressives.
