2026 D-III NCAA Tournament Pick'em Semifinal Games

Ya think..?

Been to Sage many times, and Hamilton doesn't even draw there, despite the free admission. That place is more of a day-care joint than it is a hockey rink,

My guess is that -even in a perfect scenario- The Aud will be at least 75% empty. (The perfect scenario being a Hobart/Hamilton final.)
Date:
Sat March 21, 2026
Location:
Russell Sage Rink
Game:
NCAA3 TOURNAMENT
Attendance:
397

Which is average for most rinks other than the top 8 or 10

I loved the atmosphere at the Nexus Center last year. It will be disappointing to have the Aud partially empty without the Utica fans packing it. Last year lots of Hobart fans couldn’t even get tickets, which won’t be a problem this year.

Hobart plays a great team defensive game and really limited SNC's prime chances until about 5 minutes remaining. There can be no arguing with Beaver's statistics and on-ice success, but Hobart's defensive schemes deserve lots of credit too. Rather than believing that Hobart has the two best goalies in all of D3, I believe most D3 goalies would look pretty damn good with that team in front of them.
Just like the great SNC goalies over the years, the answer is both amazing team defense and great goaltending.

The Aud will be mostly empty, is my guess.

Aurora and Stout will send nobody to speak of, and the two local teams might draw 800, combined. I wouldn't expect that UU fans will show up in significant numbers, but I might be surprised.

We are among the idiot optimists who purchased weekend passes last week, but will likely just see the early game on Friday. I seriously doubt that they'll be a shortage of tickets for any of the games, but my remaining ones will likely be available at face value, or for free.

Yeah, tickets were scarcer than hen's teeth for last year's final. We held season passes for 25 years, and still couldn't buy them, despite being in the queue the very second that they went on sale... Then, there was the post.

It ain't easy being a Utica fan.
