2025 Rivalry Series

At the game. You guys who get to watch these folks live all the time are so lucky! Having a blast. My kids have got a bunch of autographs and are high fiving USA on and off the ice.

Heise is unreal to me she is game mvp so far for her play making. Murphy is really fun to watch. Tessa Janecke deserves way more hype than she gets.

Minnesota players all over the ice are making an impact.

Edwards is the real deal, even on D imo. Crazy to think many of these players haven’t hit their peak yet.

Canada not really putting it together in the same way yet.

Wrobo gives great quotes. 2 loudest cheers during intros were for Knight and Edwards.

I do hope this fires up cleveland girls hockey. By my rough math there are 400 girls ages 6-18 that play hockey. Total of 6 full time girls teams. Rest of the girls play co-Ed.

Two games this week to figure out who makes the team. If I was the coach ( ) I would leave the top six Fs and top two D out of the Wednesday game to give the others one last chance to prove themselves. The outcome is meaningless. Maybe come back with what you think the lineup will be for the last game. Interesting stuff.

And play the 3rd string goalie.

The outcomes are meaningless from the big picture, but the HYPE/PR people have to eat you know.

The three Rivalry Series games have all had the same top 12 forwards and top 6 D for the Americans. So really in terms of open spots it's Guilday, Peschel, Harmon, and Wilgren competing to be the 7D and Eden, Scamurra, Compher, O'Brien, and Hughes (who hasn't seen the ice yet) for one spot up front.

Peschel missed last weekend vs Wisconsin; I assume she's injured, but don't know anything.

Canada's D are just sitting on the puck in their own zone along the boards and not moving it quickly. Shocking to see them playing so slowly.

Not gonna lie I am here for this. Insert 2014 level drama when Canada fired their coach a month or so before the tournament.

I’m angling for Knight and Poulin to each win either pw championship or Olympic gold this year.

Crowd was horrific.

This loss is part of Canada's ploy to make the Americans over-confident and for them to stay humble for the only game that will really count in a few months.
