2025-26 PWHL season

The best of 5 makes sense to me in that the PWHL regular season is only 30 games, whereas the NHL regular season is 82. I am thankful it's not a 3 game series, which I hate in all sports. Being a non-hard core PWHL fan, why do they only play 30 games? That seems really low. Going to 12 teams they probably need to up the regular season to 60ish games and the playoffs need to be the top 8.
I was going to go back to my post to add that I'm happy it's not a best-of-3 because that would be garbage. I agree they need to double the number of games, but how does that then impact salary expectations. I think with the current number of teams the best-of-5 is ok, but definitely not for the finals. The finals need to be best-of-7 without a doubt. Once they expand the regular season they'll also need to expand the playoff format with number of teams that qualify and then also the length of each series. Maybe a best-of-5 for Round 1, but after that they need to go to a best-of-7 format the rest of the way.

The PWHL has confirmed the San Jose team as the 4th and final expansion team of this year! Colors are orange, blue, and white, and home games to be played at SAP Center.

Are there other Nurses that have checked all of those boxes on their resumes? The final one is harder with only three chances, but we could include whatever passed for a pro league at the time. I'm guessing that there are people from Madtown who have, but it's too depressing to think about for long. I know that both Lee Stecklein and Kelly Pannek have won multiple of each, Stecklein adds a state hockey title, and Pannek won a couple of state titles in soccer. If we get bored during the summer, we can look at league titles as well.

Without checking PWHL rosters for the first two years, I know that from this year's winners, Abby Roque is missing an Olympic gold (and maybe WC, too?), and Desbiens - amazingly - is missing an NCAA championship. From memory, Britta Curl was on a championship-winning Frost team?

Rattray won an NCAA title and Olympic gold. I got to think she won a WC, but then she wasn't always on that team, and Canada did lose a bunch when she could have been on the WC team.
