2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

The crowd for the game today was reported as 1600, in a building that holds 6000. You can see from the video that there was literally nobody sitting on the camera side of the ice; everyone was made to be on the opposite side, to make it look better on TV.

I don't think finding seats will be difficult.
The reason no one was on the camera side is like the last FF there they have it sectioned off.

Obviously. If everyone is on the side opposite the camera(s), it looks better on TV. The "LOVB" Madison volleyball team does the same thing.

If Pegula is overwhelmed with fans for the final four who have not shown up before, they'll open those sections, and you'll have no problem finding decent seats.

They've only used one side of the arena for women's hockey since the arena first opened - same as many others do, because it makes $en$e to them: fewer ushers, fewer security, fewer janitorial staff, etc etc. And obviously the atmosphere on TV/streaming looks better, but that's secondary.

I was thinking the same thing. Even before Penn State made it, I said this is a stupid ass policy. In your situation, you may be able to call the rink and state your concerns. They will probably accommodate you. But for everyone else, we are screwed.

unfortunately it won’t be necessary.
No fan base and in the middle of nowhere with hotels raping people will hold any attempt at a crowd to a minimum.

According to USCHO (https://www.uscho.com/stats/attendance/division-i-women), Penn State's average crowd is #6 out of the 45 D-1 women's hockey teams. "No fan base" isn't a very good dig.
All the numbers are ABYSMAL aside from Wisconsin and occasionally the Gophers.
If you can’t get even a thousand people to attend a game, I’m sorry, that’s PATHETIC and a shame that you think being sixth is some kind of accomplishment.
It’s embarrassing but thank you at least for going to the games.

One of the hotels I looked into months ago has their normal rates at $125 a night and had already for the FF weekend jacked it up to $525 a night! 😡

Being sixth in average attendance isn't an accomplishment - it's just better than 39 other teams, so "not high enough" attendance isn't exclusively a Penn State thing.

General admission is weak for an ncaa final. If you have a disability or a big traveling party or small children fighting for seats and holding on to them is the last thing you want to do.

Once again treat women’s sports like they actually mean something. How much extra money could it possibly cost in terms of event management to sell individual seats?

It’s general admission because they know there will be plenty of seats for any group…
It’s a 6,000 seat venue and there won’t be even 3,000 people there if there lucky

That's probably accurate - when they hosted the Frozen Four in 2022 (and Penn State wasn't playing), they had just over 3,600 show up for the semifinals, but for the championship game only 2,008 showed up.
