2025-26 Penn State Nittany Lions

On a sidenote, I had no idea Lindenwood had such an international roster. Besides the usual U.S. and Canadian players, they have two from France, two from Sweden, two from Slovakia, one from Hungary, one from Spain, and one from Norway.
I’m laughing because I read years ago that Lindenwood was supposed to get the southern USA players…

Great start on the season by Penn State. Enjoying your commentary as always!

A shorty for each team. Looking at the schedule you have to gravitate to Cornell, OSU and Northeastern. Saint Lawrence split with Mercyhurst and RIT. Lindenwood had the lead for a period.

Great research Zed. That is quite the international roster.

What kind of photoshoot? Halloween or hockey?

Stonehouse finally broke through. It was Fantin's line to shine this weekend. Campbell ended up getting the start and shutout.

A stats breakdown: shots on goal ended at 52-18 for Penn State, penalties were 5 for Lindenwood and 3 for Penn State, and goals came from Abby Stonehouse, Matilde Fantin, Kendall Butze, and two from Katelyn Roberts. Penn State moves to 10-0-0 on the season, with five shutouts, and have outscored their opponents 48-8.

It didn't end up happening, but was supposed to be a "senior casual" shoot for the high school yearbook. This kid was an absolute nightmare to try to prep for, loaded with demands with no clue how photography works, and at the last minute ended up backing out. I was so happy (hahaha)!

Surprise - three players tied with the lead in blocks at 10 each. Tullock, Butze and .... Janecke. Outwater leads the team in goals with 9 and Maynard with assists with 11.

Zed bummer on the no show.

PSU fan great info.

Matilde Fantin had 2 goals and 4 assists this weekend. She's currently third on the team in scoring with 12 points (right behind Janecke and Maynard who both have 14 points) and she was named one of Penn State's athletes of the week: https://x.com/GoPSUsports/status/1982837581361418349 along with Gavin McKenna on the men's hockey team.
And she's added AHA Rookie of the Week honors, her second conference award this month: https://atlantichockeyamerica.com/n...aha-womens-players-of-the-week-oct-20-26.aspx

I didn't even realize it's Friday already, so...it's game day. Penn State travels to Robert Morris for an AHA conference series, today at 3:00 Eastern and tomorrow at 5:00 Eastern. Both games are streaming on BloHockey (typo intentional), if you're so inclined. I won't post a video link. Live stats are here: https://rmucolonials.com/sidearmstats/whockey/summary

No scouting Robert Morris, because they're a sort of "who knows?" team while they rebuild. They currently sit at 5-5-0, having swept Delaware and Assumption, gotten swept by Bemidji and Yale, and split with RIT. After this series, Penn State gets a bye next weekend, so they won't be missing Tessa Janecke while she's with Team USA for the Rivalry Series.

Penn State moves to 11-0-0 after shutting out Robert Morris by a score of 4-0 - Katie DeSa's fourth shutout of the season. Goals came from Tessa Janecke, Katelyn Roberts, Grace Outwater, and Mikah Keller. Penalties were 6 for Robert Morris and 4 for Penn State, and shots on goal were 38-15 for Penn State.

Penn State shut out Robert Morris by the same score today, 4-0, on goals from Nicole Hall, Sophie Morrow, and two from Maddy Christian. Shots on goal, were 46-16 for Penn State, and penalties were ridiculous - 11 for Penn State and 8 for Robert Morris, so I'd love to have seen what was going on. Penalties included three Penn State unsportsmanlike conduct penalties: one for Nicole Hall, one for Grace Outwater, and one (with an additional 10-minute game misconduct) for Tessa Janecke for body checking.

The other Penn State penalty - which I've never seen before - was a 10-minute bench penalty for abuse of officials. Say what?

Katie DeSa got her fifth shutout of the season, tying her for first nationally. Penn State is now 12-0-0, with 7 shutouts, tying with Wisconsin for most nationally, and is the first team nationally to win 12 games so far.

Robert Morris is the new Lindenwood of trying to get you roll down in the mud. Penn State needs to be more disciplined. It's a little surprising on the bench penalties.

Does Janecke have to sit out the next game with the 10 minute major? There are bigger players on PSU that can take care of business for Janecke. Janecke is the player of the year of the conference, anytime you lose her, the other team is getting the better of that.

As far as the outdoor game, most outdoor games are pretty tame because everything hurts more outside.

Janecke didn't get a suspension, just a 10-minute unsportsmanlike conduct, so she just had to sit out for 10 minutes. I thought it was a game misconduct, but the box score says 10-minute unsportsmanlike conduct, so maybe she mouthed off at the ref for calling body checking on her. The two penalties were called at the same time (body checking and unsportsmanlike conduct). Anyway, no...she's not out for any games.
