Great info! I'm pretty sure the Lake Placid tournament will not be Merrimack because they are in the friendship four Thanksgiving weekend and I think lake placid is Thanksgiving weekend too unless its around new years weekend then it's possible Providence bailed and Merrimack took its place.

This also tells me that one of the lake placid games will be v SLU and a conference game since they have a max of 12 games.

I was told when I was there in December it would be Thanksgiving weekend and was told the dates November 29 & 30. Unless things have changed since then.

Providence is playing in the Lake Placid tourney. They are also in the Dartmouth Tourney and have home games with Colorado College (2), Arizona St. (2) and Brown to go along with the game at North Dakota.

Thanks! This gives us all of PC's non-conference schedule but they may have (1) more game scheduled if they take advantage of the HOF Game exemption.

New tournament Jan 3-4 2025 and will be called Cactus Cup:
UMass-Lowell

Michigan Tech
Holy Cross

Tech hockey to compete in Coachella Valley Cactus Cup - Michigan Tech Athletics (michigantechhuskies.com)

The event is scheduled to take place on Friday, January 3, with Holy Cross taking on Omaha at 3:30 p.m. and Michigan Tech playing UMass Lowell at 7 p.m. PT. The action continues Saturday, January 4, with two more games starting at the same times. The losers of both Friday matches will compete at 3:30 p.m. on Saturday, and the winners will face off at 7 p.m. on Saturday. https://www.michigantechhuskies.com/sports/mice/2023-24/releases/20240415g3juf3

Ferris and Bowing Green should be the first two weeks after the pre-season exhibition. That's become a regular staple. Ferris is opening weekend for sure. I recall reading that that was a specific clause in the contract once they hooked up again after not playing each other the first couple years post-realignment.

I could actually see WMU pushing BGSU back a couple weeks in order to fit in with somebody else's slots, such as an ECAC team. But I doubt it. My guess is Michigan will probably be the week after the BGSU series (or two, depending on if Western takes a Bye week)

I'm curious who the last series is though. Personally, I'm hoping we can get a Hockey East team to come to Lawson for once. Our best chance at that is UMass or maybe Maine. Wishful thinking, for sure.

I would really love for Maine to have some regular season series with NCHC teams, so if they made a trip to Lawson I would be fully in favor of that.

Luke Strand said at a blue line event earlier this year that Minnesota State's nonconf opponents would include Michigan, Merrimack, North Dakota and Omaha.
