2024-25: D3whky

Bobrowski trying to coach at every Division 3 school at this rate
He has that police retirement pension he has more financial flexibility than most coaches. This move makes sense in that he is back in the Twin Cities and at a place he had success as an assistant.

True. In all honesty, this is a slam dunk hire for Hamline. With Carroll's time seemingly coming to an end at Gustavus, I think Augsburg and Hamline will run the MIAC for the next half-decade or so.

Not sure I'd write Gustavus off yet, the talent and speed was there, the chemistry was not. I'd be surprised if they didn't rebound from last year's performance which wasn't that bad to begin with. Plus the Carroll's aren't leaving yet and if they did they'd most likely have a transition plan or a gem of an opening.

Going long term Augsburg and Hamline aren't the easiest schools to recruit to. Not saying they both can't make a dominating run despite, but based on where some top MN recruits appear to be heading there could easily be 4-5 teams in that long term mix.

Can confirm on the latter. Augsburg's neighborhood in Minneapolis has completely gone to hell the last five years. Insane how far the city has fallen in such an insanely short timespan. Never seen anything like it in the U.S. of a city that size.

Beloit has named Kelly Millins (Elmira '23) as their interim Head Coach. She spent last season as an assistant at Wilkes and I believe was moving laterally to bethe assistant at Beloit before Bobrowski left.

She's very young and inexperienced and at the helm of a new program on paper albeit most of their players came from Northland.

I totally don't understand how these programs hire coaches. Northland was winless last year yet somehow the head coach gets a better job, like it wasn't a reflection on their ability. Is the bar so low and supply of willing applications that thin? If Beloit is just Northland recycled then they most likely will go winless this season as well.

Jake Bobrowski has a really good resume as a hockey coach before Northland, I was surprised he took it. And Hamline where he is now the head coach he was the assistant to Natalie Darwitz when they had that great turnaround with back to back natty semifinals finishing as the national third place team and then runner up.

As for if Beloit goes winless like Northland, its a possibility. I'm curious what any true freshmen recruited by Bobrowski before he left produce.
