I thought since we're getting close to the home stretch of the season if anyone has any thoughts on who the front runners should be for this seasons Patty Kaz award?

Just give it to Jaques. She should have won it last year.
Please...The right choice was made last year.
That's debatable!
I guess I missed it; when did we go from having an awards banquet to having a "ticket lobby announcement?" Let me guess; the pandemic was involved. The 2023 Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award show will be broadcast live from the AMSOIL Arena ticket lobby on Saturday, March 18, in Duluth, Minn., as part of Saturday at the NCAA Women’s Frozen Four. Fans are encouraged to attend with doors opening at 11 a.m. CT and the live 30-minute television show beginning promptly at 11:30 a.m. CT. The three finalists will be on hand, in addition to Frozen Four team participants, as the 26th winner of the Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award will be revealed. NHL Network’s Siera Santos will host the show and Serena Veazey, daughter of the late Patty Kazmaier, is expected to be in attendance as well. The event is free of charge and light refreshments will be available.
To me, it seems a little off when there are more players from Northeastern than there are from the entire ECAC. I doubt anyone other than HEA coaches would claim that it's a better league than the ECAC, but here we are.
Leaving Hartje off this is a crime.
There may be some years where the ECAC has not been sufficiently represented in the 10 Finalists, or the 3 Finalists. In terms of winners (going by the league a program is in today), the ECAC has had 10, WCHA has had 8, Hockey East has 6, and the CHA 1. The problem with the 10 for the ECAC is that 6 of those went to one school.Seems like year after year, there is a bias against the ECAC.
Couldn't agree with you more, Rightnut. I certainly hope voters weren't looking at total points instead of points per game as so many people often do. Ivies aren't allowed to play the same number of teams as the rest of the NCAA so total points is never a fair measure for Ivy players. Seems like year after year, there is a bias against the ECAC. I can only assume that for whatever reason, the voters are voting with the wrong priorities and motives.
Many on the list ARE deserving, but as you say "leaving Hartje off of this is a crime."
