2022-23 Vermont Catamounts

What is the scoop on this team. They appear to be improving, but it looks they lost an important player to NE. Was their success last year due to HE being down or are they actually turning the corner? They seemed to stumble in the playoffs the last couple years. The sr. #17 appeared to carry the load and received some accolades. Do you know if she is she is coming back for a 5th year or did she transfer?

Schafzahl is coming back, most of the seniors came back for a 5th year except Poulin-Labelle who grad transferred to Northeastern and Skodova (backup goalie) who grad transferred to UMD. Coming in for this year's freshman class we have a few senior internationals (Julia Mesplede with France, Sofie Skott with Denmark, and Krista Parkkonen with Finland) along with goalie Ellie Simmons and forward Lara Beecher.

I think it's a bit of both, HE was down last year, but I've been high on this team's potential for a while and last season it just Clicked.

Congrats to Natalie Mlynkova and Tynka Patkova, as well as recently-transferred Blanka Skodova, on the bronze medals!!! Mlynkova was awesome at the tournament.

Things you like to see from an exhibition: dominant win, chemistry looked good, newcomers look good. Should be even better once Mlynkova and Sini are back in the lineup.

Things you don't like to see: that Mespl?de injury. Hope she's ok.

That looked scary the way she went into the boards.

Strong start. I think Blais-Savoie is going to have a breakout year.

Condolences with Coach Plumer, who was absent today with family following the recent passing of his father.

13 penalties so far with 10 to go in the third. And the game hasn’t been chippy in the least. Oh well.

2-1 Vermont. Catamounts haven’t played particularly well.

3 straight games against any team is tough. To win all 3 against a good team is hella impressive, even if today was a bit shaky. Huge too in the fight for 2nd in WHEA.
