Geneseo still had some opportunities in the last few minutes. Just couldn't finish in the 3rd period. Lot's of timely blocked shots by Plattsburgh as well. Very entertaining game. I hope we meet again. I'm glad, however, the no one got hurt. Seemed like a bunch of no calls on both sides in a very physical game.

As far as the blowouts are concerned could they be an oblique statement of which schools take their hockey programs seriously and which do not?
 
Oswego lost to Genny 4-3,,,they were down 3-0 going into third scored 3 goals in 12 minutes to tie and lost in OT,outshot genny 56 to 25...

Just like the good old days, Oswego got the power play they needed late in the third to tie it (I missed the play to see how obvious or not the penalty was). The play in OT seemed a text book penalty shot call, but was just awarded a two minute 4 on 3 power play.
 
Utica pads their stats this weekend with Kings College visiting the Aud.

Geneseo 4-2 over Cortland after being down 2-0 early in the game. Durante looked a bit off his game tonight. Cortland had a 5 minute PP in the 3rd but Geneseo wouldn't even let them get set up do to an extremely aggressive PK. That seemed to take some of the wind out of their sails.

Aggressive Pk is the way to go at this level,I think more teams would be wise to try it....
 
Geneseo completely dismantles Buff State 6-0. The puck must have been in Buff State's end 70 or 80% of the time. Don't know how they upended Platty last weekend. That's hockey I guess.
 
With every playoff spot on the table this weekend in the WIAC (Point v Superior with a 2 point difference, Eau Claire v Stout with a 2 point difference, River Falls v Northland with a 4 point difference) the leading teams all won and locked in the playoff seeds. Eau Claire could still move into a 2nd place tie with Superior. There's no difference in the first three tie breakers if that happens, but Superior takes the 4th tiebreaker and just barely avoids leaving it up to a coin toss.
