2021-2022 Schedules

Maybe its just me, but man this looks WEAK to say the least. Gone is Williams. Gone are the Amherst's. Gone are the Elmira's. I picked on Utica years ago for the same thing, and I for one a Cardinal fan, am really not impressed with the quality of teams coming into Stafford this year. Granted Kings and Rivier could be surprises, but Im less than thrilled to see this kind of NC schedule....

At Castleton (EX)

Vs St.Mikes (EX)
Vs. Plymouth St
Vs. Castleton
Vs. Norwich (Primelink or whatever)
Vs. Midd/MSOE (Primelink or whatever)
Vs. Norwich
Vs. Kings College (Cardinal Classic)
Vs. St.A’s/Northland (Cardinal Classic)
Vs. Middlebury
Vs. Rivier University

Not impressed with the Lakers schedule...Morrisville 3x, I think, again?

That would only be twice with Morrisville. They have two games down on the same day where Morrisville only has 1 listed. Guessing OSU misprint.

Even having said that, apples and oranges with the NC schedules:

Vs. Utica
Vs. Carleton
Vs. Hobart
At Elmira
At Williams
At Williams
At Canton
At Nazareth
Vs. Augsburg
At Utica

Not sure who the other two are for Pathfinder teams are but even so, not even close to Plattsburgh NC schedule. Hell Oswego's JV team should be able to handle Plattsburgh's NC schedule.

Okay I just defended something to do with Oswego...I must go shower now! However, funny story, my HS sophomore received her first college "come tour my school" letter a few months ago.... SUNY Oswego..... "Dad can I go?" .....she no longer lives with me.... joking of course, we do plan on touring at some point but her major isn't there.

Non-conference scheduling works both ways. If the likes of Amherst, Elmira, Williams and Utica feel they get better strength of schedule from other schools to help their PWR they are going to get those games if they can get them and leave Plattsburgh behind. They have to beat the teams on their schedule, make some noise in their conference and maybe those matchups start happening again.

Plattsburgh has never had an issue filling out a schedule with top notch opponents. What's that say about where the program has gone? THAT is my point. Very well aware of how scheduling goes, but if Plattsburgh can't field better NC teams than THAT, says a lot of how far the mighty have truly fallen. Teams would line up to play in the Cardinal Classic and schedule a NC game with Plattsburgh, now you get Rivier, St.As, Plymouth St, Castleton, Kinga, and Northland type teams..... yawn should probably cut the costs of season tickets putting a schedule together like that....

Plattsburgh is no longer a .500 team. Maybe they are building a schedule more matching what they've become. They aren't remotely good enough to compete for NCAA at-large bids any more. Playing a tough SOS is no longer a priority. I hope this isn't the current administration deciding that mediocrity is acceptable.

Now that's an interesting comment that deserves consideration by the Cardinal athletic office...

If you look at Neutral Zone it appears the quality of recruits dropped a bit for a couple years after the coaching change, but it seems to be picking up again. That's not unusual.

That would be a sight, Remy cruising the Oswego campus, wearing his Cardinal jacket, sneering at the undergrads and asking wheres the hockey dorm....:)

It dropped after Moffat left for Castleton and it took some time after his return to start to improve again. I think the issue has been financial aid packages and maybe Emery's coaching style/personality didn't mesh well with today's players, or maybe they sensed he was counting down the days.

The on-ice issue remains the same: they don't have a top forward to put the puck in the net or even a reliable scoring line they can put out there when they need a goal and have high confidence they can score.

Not really sure about the CCC Schedule for the coming year. Each team playing the other 3 times, leaving only 4 possible OOC Games. Also, the idea of home ice advantage can give an undue advantage. However, with the teams in the CCC each night should bring some great games. Anyone else see issues with so many in conference games?
