  • Joe Biden
  • Corey Booker
  • Sherrod Brown
  • Julián Castro
  • Andrew Cuomo
  • Al Franken
  • Kirsten Gillibrand
  • Kamala Harris
  • John Hickenlooper
  • Amy Klobuchar
  • Ed Markey
  • Jeff Merkley
  • Chris Murphy
  • Gavin Newsom
  • Jack Reed
  • Elizabeth Warren

Outside of Franken and Hickenlooper, who else is from "flyover" USA?

Of that list, a lot is going to depend on re-elections in 2018. Specifically, Brown needs to win his, and Cuomo and Warren need to crush it in theirs.

So, I 'd say the serious contenders are Brown, Cuomo, and Warren. People running now to get their names out there are Booker and Castro. I don't think Murphy, Gillibrand, Markey, Newsom, Harris, Biden, or Reed made a bid.

People who will run in the hopes of getting a VP nod are Hickenlooper and Klobuchar. I have no idea of the thoughts of Franken or Merkley but they'd be decent VP candidates as well.

What's Inslee's deal in Washington? Seems like a well run progressive state.

I think a progressive coastie Democrat is not a good recipie for success. They'll win the popular vote, but the Electoral College?????

The Dems nominated the wrong person. The nominee's gender should not be an issue (which of course it is).

We haven't elected Jewish president either.

I pretty much agree with this, except Harris is serious as a heart attack. Inslee is interesting -- I haven't heard any talk about him except a WaPo trial balloon.

Just stay away from Kaine, Warner, and McAuliff. If that means Harris or Booker, fine.

If Handsome Joe ran against Trump he might win 400 EV.

The orcs didn't murder Obama -- they never even got a decent shot at him. The Secret Service must have gotten really good. More hookers and blow for them!

No, they nominated the right person. She won. The base failed to get out the vote where it was needed. Basically uneducated women. Uneducated women would rather vote for a sexual predator than another woman. That's just American Fact.

I'd have been curious about what joe thought of Obama's chances in 2007. I assume he'd have said "a black guy with a Mooslim name? Pull the other one."

joe believes the Democratic nominee should be someone he can vote for, which is like me saying the Republican nominee should be somebody I can vote for. He is confusing electability in the country with electability in his house.

Therein lies the rub - Obama had to put the kibosh on hookers and blow because the Secret Service because they couldn't get the job done with their foreign distractions. (Would it be a little too on the nose to call them the SS with the current Pres.?)
