2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

National polls are not meaningless. Unlike the electoral college most states award primary delegates proportionally, which is why Sanders strategy of squeezing out a few wins in some caucus states and then getting crushed in big primary states was not a winning one last time around.

Agreed. Biden leading a national poll doesn't guarantee him delegates but it means somebody is supporting the dude. Beyond merely the benefit he's getting from Chump's illegal acts to take him out of the race, I'm speculating that he's also benefiting from Kamala Harris' long slide in the polls. There is no rival right now for the African American vote which is going to help Uncle Joe greatly when the delegate rich southern states vote on Super Tuesday. I am as excited for Lizzy Warren as I have been for any Dem candidate for Prez to reverse GOP bullsh it since Clinton burst on the scene in 1992. Having said that, I would like her to start making inroads into this vital part of the Dem coalition sooner rather than later.

In case you didn't realize he was still running for President, Tim Ryan officially dropped out today.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

Did Delaney ever officially end his campaign?

OMG he still is running!

I am possibly the only person here who ever cast a vote for this dumbf-ck, back when we hauled Roscoe Bartlett into the street and shot him. He was my Congressman until I moved out of MD and while those two facts are not related I was quite happy to be rid of him.

Well someone will pick up one vote when he endorses ;)

With the way Tulski keeps talking, I think it's much more likely she takes votes from Trump instead of the Dem nominee.

She will get those never Trumpers who still won't vote for a D.

Bernie plummets into first place in New Hampshire.

Washington (CNN) Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders (21%) and Massachusetts Sen. Elizabeth Warren (18%) are in a close race among likely voters in New Hampshire's first-in-the-nation Democratic presidential primary, according to a new CNN poll conducted by the University of New Hampshire.

Former Vice President Joe Biden stands a shade behind at 15%, and South Bend, Indiana, Mayor Pete Buttigieg rounds out the field of four who reach double-digits with 10%.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

How is that possible? I was told the Billionaire Power Structure is out to destroy Vermont Jesus  ;)

(its a joke)

In all honesty I did find it annoying an hour ago when some rando from the Bernie campaign (from a Huntsville, Alabama phone) texted me unsolicited. That never happened in 2016 and I dont need them sending me their propaganda now. Any candidate that does that is on my [bleep] list.

Just got that too. I'm pretty irritated about that too. Unsolicited texts from a campaign? That's gross. How did they even get my number?

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

I assume they got mine from when I sent him money in the last election. (though I dont know that I would have given them permission to text)

Not a good look.

Re: 2020 Democratic Challengers Vi: The Undiscovered Country

They definitely did it in 2016, but it was more for getting primary volunteers and reminders to vote.

This time around I’ve gotten them for donating, to alerts that Bernie is having an event, to volunteer organizing.

I assumed it was just the new way all campaigns were doing communication in the modern era, but I guess not. Also, all of mine come from the same number, but different names each time.

The people of New Hampshire think you're adorable.

If you have ever volunteered to do anything for any campaign or the party you have received the mark on your house. You will now be pestered by Dems to the end of your days. I just unconsciously block them all as they come in, now.

Yeah I gave money to the ACLU and the Sierra Fund...the amount of trees that have died because of the crap sent to my home is ridiculous.

Never used that number. For anything remotely political. Never used it to donate. Never used it to volunteer, except for habitat (but that might have been my work number). It's a pretty private number.
