2020-21 NMU Hockey Season

The only game wiped out by COVID that NMU has to reschedule is the single at LSSU that was moved to December 2, since that's a conference game. It was moved to that date to avoid a hotel conflict because the 2 game series in the Soo fell on the same weekend as the I-500 snowmobile race. The I-500 was cancelled last night, so it looks like the original plan to play a series at LSSU is probably the solution to getting that game back.

This situation is a microcosm of everything we're all experiencing. A whole bunch of work and stress just to get back to where you started from.

NMU will now play Ferris Wednesday, December 16 in Marquette and December 30 in Big Rapids. The January 1-2 series in Marquette vs. Minnesota has been pushed back to January 2-3.

You would have to think that scheduling games in the near future is a good sign that they have their virus issues under control.

Looks like we are in for a long year. I have seen a gradual improvement, but they have a long way to go.

Not sure where everyone went this year. Obviously, with such a poor start, not much to talk about.
But, things are looking up. Great showing last weekend with 5 out of 6 points. A little disappointed in the loss Tuesday, but nice win last night. Huge series this weekend with BG.
GO CATS!

I could complain about an atrocious call, but that was one heck of a hockey game. Hats off to both teams and both goaltenders. Great game.

Well, I guess I am talking to myself, but pretty excited with the series win this weekend. I don't think anyone expected NMU to win this series, so congratulations to all the players and coaches for a great win. DiMatteo really stepped up late in the season to grab the #1 goaltender spot, and we don't advance without him in the BGU series.
Tall task on Friday. Start time really sucks, but we will take it.
Go Cats!

I have a hunch NMU will upset Bowling Green.

This may be coming to fruition. Cats 4 BG 1 after two.

LSSULaker889294 saw it coming. I did too but failed to affirm until after the 4-1 lead. Of course, game 2 was a BG blowout, but the Cats came back. Part of this was the fact that BG was somewhat over-rated AND kept struggling midseason through Sunday.

Good luck Cats!

There is no more excuse about, ‘hey it’s a new coach and new players or we’re young.’ You know, some of those things to me..they haven’t been excuses because they’ve been facts, but now it’s to the point where I think our players need to get the same mindset as I do and that I have at that is…It’s time to hang a banner.
