2019 Frozen Four: NCHC vs. Hockey East

Re: 2019 Frozen Four: NCHC vs. Hockey East

Be thankful the NCAA makes ESPN televise these games at all. There are Twitch streamers with a larger viewing audience than many postseason college hockey games.

ESPN has to, to get the bouncyball and football contracts.

Maybe it’s customary in Buffalo?

That is indeed the answer. It’s the better anthem anyway, so I enjoyed hearing it. :).

A clinic of a first period by UMD.

I’m really enjoying Colby’s work between the glass these last three games. Good for him.

It’s based upon what others have done at that point. Huge difference between 5 championships and 20+ appearances and 3 championships and a dozen appearances.

If you could just give me the years they became blue bloods:

Michigan:
North Dakota:
Denver:
Minnesota:
Wisconsin:
BC:
BU:

was surprised to see UMD outskate UMass early. Great play by UMD and a well placed shot. Hoping to see UMass tie it and a war. Good hockey by both teams.

Exactly. Since the Sabres were born in 1970, they play the Canadian and U.S. anthem before every game. It’s a border city and have many Southern Ontario fans in attendance.
The only American city to play Oh Canada before every game.

I appreciate you answering the question posed. And, I dont necessarily completely disagree with you. But what separated Minnesota and Michigan Tech as of 1979?

Primarily I think it was Minnesota’s three titles in a or 5 years, and a little hindsight as to the dominance they would demonstrate over the next two decades.

As of 1979, Tech had as many titles (3), more title appearances (7), more frozen fours (9), more NCAA tournament appearances (9), more conference regular season titles (6), and more conference tournament titles (8).

As of ‘79 you couyhave argued that Tech was a blue blood, but not today.
