2019-20 SNC Hockey Season...Another shot @ #6....

Re: 2019-20 SNC Hockey Season...Another shot @ #6....

Here's a brand new "stay at home" feature I concocted - Green Knights at a Round Table. Our first installment is a roundtable discussion of the 2008 St. Norbert College NCAA Division III national championship hockey team. Discussion conducted with head coach Tim Coghlin, assistant coach A.J. Aitken, athletic trainer Russ Schmelzer, junior captain Ryan Petersen, senior goaltender Kyle Jones, senior forward Marc Belanger and freshman forward Scott Pulak. Moderated by sports information director Dan Lukes.

Let us know what you think. Just about 80 minutes long. The video is what it is but a lot of good stories and memories about one of the best teams and seasons in Division III hockey history.

Here is the link: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GDDlnfrTmDE

I'd love to see more videos like this. I also appreciated seeing the 2018 National Championship game posted on youtube.

Thanks for putting this together, Dan.
Great memories of this season.

Thanks. All five of them should be posted to YouTube.

Agreed. It'd be cool to see some other classics there as well. The overtime wins over Augsburg in 2017 and 2019. The double OT win over UMass Boston in 2016. etc.

A lot depends on what we actually have. If we have them, uploading them isn't an issue. Trying to find some older stuff.

I found the highlight tape of the SNC vs UMass Boston game from Lake Placid...
Probably the craziest college hockey game that I have ever seen in person..

Norwich also sold full season tickets. In the past, they generally sold playoffs tickets for the full playoffs, and refunded if NU was out, so they have a mechanism in place to handle changes.

Why has no one submitted a post since September 14th, 2021. Why is there no interest in Green Night Hockey? I have seen a real drop off in the number of posts since we are no longer in the same conference as the WIAC schools. I can vividly remember great crowds at the Cornerstone when we were regularly playing these schools because of our conference affiliation. Since the WIAC schools left the NCHA, in my opinion, there has been a considerable drop off in interest, attendance, and posting on this site.

I made a feeble attempt to start an NCHA thread, which has had a total of 0 replies so far.

I am interested in your opinion. Is the lack of interest in Green Night hockey due to the fact that they are not in the same conference as the WIAC schools?

No. I think the reduced chatter here is more indicative of the decline in popularity of this forum and internet message boards in general. People stay connected to teams and other fans in different ways (Twitter, group emails, etc.)

My guess is that the WIAC misses SNC and the auto-bid that came along with having them more than SNC misses the WIAC.

I do miss hearing SNC fans chant “when in doubt, enroll at Stout” though…

That's pretty damned funny, referencing an (assumed) "safety-school".

I've been around so long that I actually know Point and River Falls grads. Lots of potential for rhyming insults to be had there, too...

Let's get to work.
