I think he probably made the right decision, remember the defense he had playing in front of him making him look better than he probably was. He was likely to regress the following year and at that point the opportunity may not have been available to him.

Joel L'Esperance scores a goal last night for Da Stars who ended up loosing anyways. Good luck tonight Huskies! Working out the kinks and building on the success from Sweep Week.

Not the best and we have a long way to go. The goaltending was very good though. I sure would like us to play better. Mostly a snoozer.

Well the pp could be better. It would be easy to be pessimistic but i'll try not to be. IMHO when the other team takes those 5 minute majors you have to be able to punish them for the foul, otherwise they will be running you all night.

At least the games were close? *shrug*

Our games with _airbanks are usually close, though in the past 4-5 years they've been MTU wins. So we were probably due for a bit of disappointment.

We have a very young team and it showed. We are still trying to figure out who we have. Buckle up, it is going to be a roller coaster ride.

MTU had not lost to UA_ since the 2013-2014 season.

Alaska played pretty well. Better than us for the most part. I can see how our game will improve and i'm fine with that, but I also think if the pp had been clicking we'd have come away with at least a tie.

It sounds like a similar story to last year, we need to play hard. Only difference, Joe sounds positive about this group's mentality and what they need to do to get better. He isn't calling out people, but praising the players for some of the things they do. At least it is an improvement from last year.

Totally agreed Lost_Husky. That's what is needed during the Millennial era. Positive culture, teammate accountability, and accessible leadership are all things that programs seem to be forced to spew these days. As the mentality changes, so does the officiating, so does the game.

I've been thinking about the differences between the championship teams 3 years ago and now. One difference jumps out at me. We were able to forecheck better in their zone and control play enough so that the puck stayed down there for long periods. Eventually, we'd get a shot on net and a goal. Nowadays, the puck comes out fairly easily, and we are on defense again. So limited opportunities to score and more time defending. I don't think it's our scorers so much as the forecheck.
