Penn State comes to Columbus. Winning 3 of 4 against them doesnt make playing them any easier in a 1 game shot. Going to have to be on top of the defensive game to advance

We should have Dakota back but let's also not forget it was a cheap shot by Penn State that caused us to lose Tanner all those games and they're not beneath playing dirty to save their season.
I worry more about injuries at this time of year than any other time. Look at last season Weis breaking his collarbone in a freak accident in practice the week we were to play ND for the title.

Single game weekends next two, and I'll be incredibly disappointed if Napier doesn't start in net both games. Then do we go back to the alternating in the NCAA? I don't know.

I would be disappointed as well. If tommy doesnt start in either of these games it will be 4 weeks between starta in the regional.

One good thing is with McInchak and Pochmara handing Notre Dame the game last night we don't have to worry about having them officiate here today.

My most important thing a ref can be is consistent. Consistently bad or good, players can adjust. Piotrowski was usually consistent. My least favorites over the years were Brent Rutherford and Roger Graph.

Well the questionable refereeing bit us in the *ss like we were Minnesota! It wasn't as blatant as last night's game but just as poor with questionable and non calls.
You don't have to be the best team to win in the conference, just the one who gets the benefit of bad officiating!

Today's loss stung, that's for sure. But the regular title season title can't be taken away, and the biggest prizes are still on the table. Had we been offered that deal back in September, all of us probably would have taken it.

Don't know what to expect in the NCAA's. But we do know that there's no more margin for error, and that should help the team play with the needed desperation.

Today's loss had nothing to do with officiating and everything to do with us just plain laying an egg out there. We didn't come out ready to play and dug ourselves a 2-0 hole, then had to chase the game the rest of the way. Our puck management was not what it needed to be to win a division I hockey game against any team with a pulse. I don't disagree that there were some bad calls, but the bad calls are not what lost us the game. We lost that one ourselves. This team, for a group of guys who have purported themselves to be on some mission to get back to the Frozen Four and finish the job this time, is clearly moving in the wrong direction right now, and this is not the time to be playing your worst hockey of the season. We made Jones look like a Vezina Candidate out there. I didn't see any heart or urgency out of this team today, and that's never a good thing at any point in the season, let alone right before the NCAA Tournament. At this point, I am just hoping we stay in the top 8 of the PairWise so we can at least get a 2-seed. Not sure where we get sent at this point. We can't really say we deserve to go to Allentown when we are a 2-seed and are in the midst of a downward spiral. Not sure what is going on with this team, but they have two weeks to figure **** out. Otherwise, their season will end in the first game of the NCAA Tournament. They won't beat anyone playing the way they did today. Pathetic, uninspired performance today, plain and simple. :mad:

Told Mrs 86 on the way to the game today that Penn State would come out and play desperate hockey and that we needed to match their intensity. We never did, not at any point in the game. I sincerely hope you are correct regarding playing with the needed desperation. Otherwise, this team's season will end four wins short of their goal.

Agree on how we played but the officiating stung just as much. The ejection was BS not to mention it was clean shoulder to shoulder. Did you see Dakota take the spearing to the face and no call?

It stung BG also via the Pairwise. It's our own fault but we needed a few teams to win to secure an at-large.

The hit i agree was shoulder to shoulder and the guy was already falling. I would have been ok calling it 2 minutes for charging but not 5. It didnt mattet in the end as they played about as poor a games as they have played all year long. On to the big tournament now and no more margin for error. Just hope penn state doesnt win Saturday because they probably end oe a 3 seed and ohio state goes east then.
