Time to enjoy this week.

OSU jumped Notre Dame and is now ranked first in the USCHO poll. Not a frequent occurrence. :)

Pretty cool to be #1. Confused as to why we jumped Notre Dame though. I thought exhibition games weren't supposed to count in the polls.

Hey, we've jumped to #1 and we haven't even played a game yet? Can't beat THAT with a stick!
I've got to screen save it, who knows when I'll see it again but oh wait, it'll be at the end of the Frozen 4! :p

Hey Buckeyes! ASU alum here. Yes, we do have a free stream for the games. It is done by our student broadcast school. They do a nice job within the resources they have. The rink (it is not an arena) probably makes it difficult for them to do much more. But it is free and better than nothing at all. For those traveling out, be sure to get to the rink as doors open. The GA sections in which I'm guessing most have their tickets, are first come first serve. Those are the sections on the ends of the rink. Hopefully someday you can be back out when the new building is open. That is slated for the 2020-21 season.

Look forward to having you guys out and congrats on the #1 ranking.

Thank you Revs89.2, I was wondering if the feed was pay or free.
You may find our fan attendance lacking as unlike our football fans we generally don't travel well outside our region with the possible exception of playoffs. Hopefully some local alumni in AZ will fill the void for us.
I'm looking forward with curiosity and excitement. Curiosity as it seems we no longer play a tune up pre-season game with against a minor opponent to shake the rust off and get the boys a little more in sync and excitement as college hockey season is again upon us and we hope to build upon how close we came last year.
Good luck to your team as well and I'll be watching online.

Our current rink only holds about 800. We got up to 940 on Sunday vs. Alaska with standing room folks. So even if you get 100 folks in there it will seem like a lot. You will see online how humble it is. Humble being a generous description. But hey, we have D1 hockey at ASU, so showing patience for a few more years is worth it!

Congrats and just know you won't stay there the whole year but if you hang around the area good things could happen.

Sounds exactly like our old barn here that the women play in. Most clearing attempts hit the ceiling support girders! We were in it from our inaugural season in '63 until we moved into the arena in '99. Red Berenson, Michigan's legendary coach was complaining back in the day we shouldn't be allowed to play in the conference in that building. Back then it was 10 feet too short of ice.
It's been extended but the bleachers at that end had to be shrunk to about 3 rows. Here's a link to what it looks like. http://ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-hockey/facilities/ice-rink/
Now people complain we're in too big an arena. It's the largest on campus hockey arena in the country.
Too bad the B1G couldn't lure you guys away from the PAC but the B1G wanted all your sports, not just hockey so they could extend their sphere of influence.

I was confused by the posted start time of 10:00 PM our time zone but 7:00 Mountain time as it's only a 2 hour difference until I remembered Arizona does not do daylight savings time.

Wow, change up the colors and your old barn is our Oceanside. Right down to the press box and low ceilings. Our seats are five rows deep on one side. And one small section at one end for the students. Not ideal at all. Thanks for positing that link!
