Re: 2017 MLB Season - The Goat Memorial Thread

Most bizarre triple play ever in Red Sox -- Orioles game. Moreland on second, Pedroia on first, Bradley batting. Pop fly to short left field -- playable by the shortstop, infield fly rule not called (I thought that was the criterion for infield fly rule was playable by an infileder). Shortstop drops pop fly. Picks up ball, starts to throw to third, but runner on second held, so shortstop throws to second. Second baseman takes throw, tags out runner on second (out 1), who looks confused and is just standing there, but not on the base. Second baseman then touches second base, forcing runner on first (out two) then throws to first. Bradley hasn't run out the fly so first baseman touches first base, retiring the batter (out three). Brain farts by runner on second and batter.

This crap about throwing behind hitters is nonsense. Hit a guy in the back. Hit him in the butt. I don't care. Keep it between the thighs and the top of the numbers and be done with it.

Bob Gibson and Don Drysdale nonwithstanding?? :).

Machado is a whiner like the entire organization he plays for. He should be thankful neither Pedro or Clemens is pitching anymore for the Sox because they wouldn't have missed. I noticed nobody apologized to Benintendi for throwing at his head.

Glass houses, no stones.

I think Kep has "championship envy" again. :D

I would have very much liked to have had Boston's success over the last 20 years for my teams.

Since 1997:

Overall Champions:

BC & BU 5 Cornell 0
Red Sox 3 Mets 0
Patriots 5 Seahawks 1
Bruins 1 Islanders 0

Total:

Boston 14 Kepler 1

you would never know it, considering how miserable a lot of their fans seem to be. ;)

Massachusetts: We're Better Than You. :D

Its the collective awesomeness of the local populace that drives our sports teams to greater heights. Hell, we even pushed the Bruins over the top and a more mismanaged organization you won't find.

The Cleveland Browns beg to differ.
