2017 Milwaukee Brewers, Back to Back Champions!

Re: 2017 Milwaukee Brewers, Back to Back Champions!

Either they didnt drink heavily last night, or they're a team of functional drunks. Complete the sweep of the Reds today by winning 5-3. One game behind the Cardinals. Half game behind the Nationals.

Three games to go.

All pro athletes and college students are functional drunks.

Re: 2017 Milwaukee Brewers, Back to Back Champions!

IINM they only use 163s to determine eliminations, not division/WC slotting.

now that the WC teams aren't guaranteed a series, there is a game 163, Brewers/Cubs played one last year. Winner won the division, loser played in the WC game

1 game back with 3 to go. Let's go Cubs!

I saw a picture of the Cardinals' celebration and they had CHAMPAGNE GLASSES. You do NOT have glasses of any type at a clubhouse champagne celebration. Who do you want to root for, America? :D

It's the Cardinal Way.

If there's a 163, it'll be at 2 pm on Monday.

I have a 2:30 appointment. grrr.

Re: 2017 Milwaukee Brewers, Back to Back Champions!

Braun will be back for the playoffs, but LoCain has a sprained ankle. :( I didn't see any reports on his availability, but he can't play with a sprained ankle....... can he?

Still in the division race on the last day of the season.

Cubs did their part. Holland for them today vs. Flaherty (ugh)

Adrian Houser going today vs. Jeff Hoffman

Grisham, Gamel and Spangenberg in the outfield... just like they drew up on Opening Day. ;)

Re: 2017 Milwaukee Brewers, Back to Back Champions!

Woodruff (well, for a few innings) and Scherzer on Tuesday. Winner goes to LA.

I don't have good feelings about this. Maybe a day of rest will help (me, and them :D)

Braun will supposedly be back, and Cain is "trending upward", whatever that means.

As I have seen mentioned on Twitter, even if the Brewers lose tomorrow, this has been a successful season.

True. Radio guys pointed out that in the last 3 seasons, the Brewers have only had 1 meaningless game (that is, after having been eliminated from contention). This recent success was unfathomable to me, say, 15 years ago when they were struggling to hit .500 for years on end.

The number of injuries they had this year could have doomed them, and it didn't.

first time since the early 80s that the Brewers have had 3 consecutive winning seasons...if you count the strike shortened 1981 season, they had 6 in a row from 1978 to 1983

This. I 100% agree.
