Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

UMass-Boston Beacons just punched their ticket. That was a wicked exciting game vs. Babson. Very back and forth all game long. If that second UMB goal doesn't make ESPN's Top 10 plays than the Top 10 is completely irrelevant. Congrats to both UMass-Boston and Babson on great seasons. Good luck Beacons! I'm gonna be in Boston March 13-18th. Any chance any of the NCAA tournament games will be scheduled during the week? I'd love to go to one.

Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

NCAA tourney games are on the weekends now. Even the 1st round games.

Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

I'm not sure why you have UWSP in as a Pool C, if they lose to UWRF they are probably on the outside looking in....they would lose criteria to Williams and be very close with Plattsburgh....

Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

I don't think Plattsburgh deserves a bid after their effort tonight.... Can't remember the last time they were manhandled that badly (RIT in 2001?)

Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

Of course Plattsburgh deserves a bid. (I have Platty #2 in the East, by my own metrics.) One game does not a season make, and Genny is clearly an excellent team.

But all of the D-3 process-apologists seem to ignore the obvious, unless the process lets them down.

That's a shame.

salve regina is in,and Platty Babo etc wait for the smoke to clear:eek::eek::eek:

Does Babson have a chance? The announcer during the UMass-Boston game seemed to make it pretty clear throughout the game that whoever lost would be seeing their season come to an end.

Utica and Endicott will drop from the Eastern 10 and be replaced by (I guess) Amherst and ????. If that ???? is Oswego, it helps Plattsburgh, if it's Salem St, it helps Williams.

Platty had a Loss vs a Ranked team. Babson had a loss vs a Ranked team. Whomever loses the NESCAC will have a loss to a Ranked team. Meanwhile, Williams who spit the bit last weekend, is 4-2-1 vs Ranked. Beat Platty H2H, Beat Amherst H2H, Beat Trinity H2H. Lost to Genny and Adrian H2H both of which are AQs.

Re: 2016 NCAA Tournament Thread

Monkey wrench time. Augsburg is outside the bus zone to Adrian. If the no flights in the first round rule is the equivalent of stone tablets from Mt. Sinai, then the only possible opponent for Adrian is a QF match-up vs. Geneseo. That stinks.

The West could get uber creative and lyft Augsburg into W3, which would allow Stevens Point to bus to Adrian (I think).

So Hobart E1 is a no brainer, as are the bottom 2 East teams. Filling the rest will be done to the music of the Platters.

We'll have fun tomorrow.

Geneseo, St. Norbert, Hobart, and assuming it's in the field, Stevens Point. All within 500. And why are you assuming regional ranks take precedent over geography?

Because common sense (not that it is included in the manual) would hopefully preclude regional 1s and 2s meeting their opposite counterparts before the national semifinals.
