Do we not have a thread yet? I watched for a few minutes, and Mad Max Fury Road won 2 awards. Who is getting Best Picture?

Both MMFR awards were for sound - Best Sound Editing and Best Sound Mixing. What's the difference?

another MMFR award - Best Makeup and Hairstyling

Aoother MMFR award - Best Production Design

Copied from Tweeter:

The sound editor assembles what the audience hears. The sound mixer determines how they hear it.

Mad Max is savaging the field. That will quickly come to an end when we get into the "major" awards

Re: 2016 Academy Awards - 2/28/2016

Out of morbid curiosity I checked, and I have, in fact, only seen one movie that was nominated for an Oscar in any category - Star Wars:The Force Remakes.

I need to get out more....

I will say it was totally an awesome looking movie (and really F* fun). Happy to see that it's looks and sound are getting acknowledged.

Finally saw Mad Max on Friday. I thoroughly enjoyed it. Amazing story and plot? Nope. But it deserves to sweeping through the editing and effects categories. Stunning.

Best Supporting Actor - Mark Rylance for Bridge of Spies.

Note - my wife and I have not seen ANY of the movies nominated for the major awards. I'm busy putting them on our Netflix queue, however.

Had about half of them already queued up. Adding the other half.

As for Rylance...wow. That was some serious chops he was up against.
