Re: 2015 World Championship Thread
Unfortunately I will be travelling on Thursday and will not be able to watch the U.S.-Swiss quarterfinal game. But I would greatly appreciate any updates from those who are watching live so I can track the game's progress via cell phone.
Go USA!
I'll try to keep the updates comin' (8am CST...evening here Thai time 8pm

).
A major weakness in the Swiss team is they've had a difficult time burying the puck in the tournament with 12 GF in 7 games vs USA's 22, and SUI ranks 16th, dead last in scoring efficiency. Switzerland's PP is at a dismal 6% (15th) vs. USA 18%. PK for both teams is about even at 90%.
In nets, the Swiss have been alternating between Genoni and Berra. Genoni has only played 3 games, but my guess is he starts with the better GAA 0.98 and SV% 95.5. Hellebuyck is right behind Genoni with a GAA 1.38 and SV% 94.2.
From what I've seen Switzerland plays a physical game, finishing checks and playing tough on the walls. I wouldn't be surprised to see them fall back into a trap to slow USA down. If USA can jump out to an early lead, the Swiss will have a hard time solving Hellebuyck. Should be a good game!
Like to see Dylan Larkin get on the score sheet (11 SOG).
