2015 DIII Commitments

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

that is always the big ? with the BIG guys.
SNC has had their share of BIG d-men in the past...take up space on the ice and not much else.
Have gone to the 5' 10" - 6' 1" prototype d-men with more success in last 7 - 8 years..

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

At 6'7 215 he is built like a telephone pole. Hopefully he can use his stick to take care of things, if not he could be in trouble if it gets physical.

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

Have you seen Fredonia's goaltending situation....they could use it.

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

Eric Bogart's (Fredonia's Goalie Recruit) numbers look unimpressive in the EHL but looks maybe deceiving, he was drafted by the Kitchener Rangers of the OHL in 2011. From the scouting report he does not come out aggressively using his size to cut down angles and is inconsistent with rebound control.

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

He was drafted by the Kitchener Rangers because he is 6'6 230 pounds, not because he is a great goalie. If Fredonia played some defense he could probably block quite a few just from being big but they don't so he probably won't be much help.

Perhaps he is just looking for a quality education via the SUNY system and isn't concerned about playing the O.

That has nothing to do with what I said. The reason he got drafted is because he is big and from Ontario, not because he is good. He probably is going to Fredonia to get a good education through the SUNY System. I am merely stating the fact he was drafted by an OHL team is not always an indicator of ability.

I didn't intend for my post to be viewed as a "knock" against your post. I understand what you're saying.

Well, he is going to Fredonia after all. I doubt he's going there just for hockey. Hasn't been a hotbed for hockey in sometime now lol. Tho being a music school (more females) does have its perks....this one time...at band camp....

In all seriousness tho, it can't really hurt....

Hey I considered playing at Geneseo,I think it was a 5;1 girl guy ratio:D,then was told by my friends at Oswego how many bars and girls were there:D

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

I never said he was he was a great goalie, I said his junior numbers were unimpressive but that doesn't mean that he is not a good goalie. The fact he was drafted by an OHL team shows he has some abilities, I am sure their coaches and scouts didn't say oh well he is big so maybe he will just fill up the net. They had their choice of goaltenders across North America (Not just Ontario in that age range) so they saw some ability there. Will he be able to bring Fredonia back to the top of the league maybe or maybe not but he could become their version of Caylin Relkoff or Kevin Carr.

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

Picked up this tweet quoting Maine head coach Red Gendron

@JeffCoxSports: Gendron commented on needing to recruit after 5-1 loss to Notre Dame. Recruiting players out of USPHL/EHL isn't going to turn around program

Hey pretty funny because if you go to collegecommittments, they just got a guy from the USPHL going to Maine, and man they do need help

Re: 2015 DIII Commitments

I have been a Maine fan for most of my 27 years because I loved their colors as a kid, them and Michigan. Man do they ever need some help, maybe Paul Kariya and Garth Snow could come back and play.
