Obviously, the list of finalists for th DIII Coach of the Year consists of the 4 Head Coaches whose teams will be playing in Minneapolis this weekend, along with the coaches who were named Coach of the Year in their respective conference. But just in case there was any doubt, the official announcement of the finalists can be found here.

2014-15 AHCA Men's Ice Hockey

* Past Jeremiah Award Winner

So, who do we think will win it this year?

And another thought: The NE-10 (a DII-only conference) gets a spot on the list of finalists for the DIII Coach of the Year? I guess I never even noticed this until now, and it appears to have been the case since the NE-10 ended their marriage with the ECAC-NE, but it seems weird to me.

Throw out the 3 (McShane, Loen , Arena) who have already won. I like Greason, Emery or Brooks. Amazing Emery has not won that award prior. Give it him, lol !!

Deventhal would probably decline that for him too.....

How has Bob NOT won it? Krug stepping in and not missing a beat with the 'Dogs is a good story as well....

Re: 2015 AHCA Edward Jeremiah Award (DIII Coach of the Year) Finalists

Honestly, as much as I support coach Emery and think it's sad that a coach with a résumé like his has never won it, my money this year is on either Krug or Arena.

As far as why Emery has never won it, here's my theory: Emery's reputation is due to consistently being a contender for a national title, but has really only been totally dominant a few times. His best shots were 1992 (Ed Seney of Potsdam was SUNYAC CotY, and I believe you needed to get the conference award at the time), 2001 (can we really argue against Wayne Wilson getting it that year?), and 2009 (Neumann's story, which has since become tainted, was too good to pass up). Ultimately, Emery has never won this award because of his own success: whenever Plattsburgh is a serious ocntender for the national title, it's considered "business as usual" for Emery.

On the other side of the valley, Jerry York has won the Spencer Penrose Trophy exactly once (1977 with Clarkson)

Agreed! An award like this isn't about how well you do, but how well you do relative to your expectations. Since Plattsburgh and Emery always have high expectations, its difficult for him to win.

By the sounds of former Adrian coach Fogarty on Twitter, it doesn't look like Krug won COTY....hopefully we hear soon.

Congrats @Krug39 for a great season in leading @acbulldoghockey to the final four. @d3hky will never change. #embarrasing #oldboysclub

Might be a bit late, but my guess is Brooks from UWSP.

Re: 2015 AHCA Edward Jeremiah Award (DIII Coach of the Year) Finalists

Good grief. Maybe it should have been Greason.
