Hope he likes Des Moines.
I knew this was coming...
Kyle *ing Quincey, re-signed for 2 yrs/$4.25 mil per
*double facepalm*
I'm just waiting for confirmation that Cleary will be back, and this sh*tstain of an offseason will be complete.
More like Folin, and he isn't willing to pay out the nose like some teams are for guys who aren't worth it.

If the number (2014-15 goals by Vanek) is 40, I'll take the under.
Congrats to the Wild on the Vanek signing. Yes, he had some struggles with MTL and there's no guarantee of future results. Still, the upside potential is there. And if it's 30 I'll take the over and not even hesitate.
They need the money to sign Niederreiter, Brodin, Granlund, Haula, Fontaine, Coyle....All are huge parts of the future, and all are on entry level contracts that are coming up in the next 2 years, including Nino and Fontaine needing a contract now.Congrats to the Wild on the Vanek signing. Yes, he had some struggles with MTL and there's no guarantee of future results. Still, the upside potential is there.
But the hometown discount might just be the most important part of the deal. Clearly it helps with this year's tighter-than-expected cap, giving the Wild the opportunity to pursue additional talent without going over budget. The current rules of engagement regularly dictate that depth be sacrificed in order to add/keep high end talent. Less need to sacrifice is self-evidently a good thing.
Going forward, this gives management a real financial incentive to add more players with MN connections. At the same time, said players may be more amenable to discount deals with Vanek and others setting the precedent. Just a Wild guess, but adding local players may be of some interest in the Twin Cities market.![]()
I'm not worried about this year. They have money this year. The problem is 3 years from now, when they have added more FA, and still have several very big contracts on the books. All of the prospects will need a new contract by then, not just 3 of them. They're ok now, and I think they are smart enough to know whats coming. I'm glad they didn't do anything stupid yesterday. See: Capitols and Oilers. And has been pointed out before, the Wild have the money to sign them. Vanek didnt put them at the cap. Wild Payroll
You act like Fontaine and Nino are gonna get max deals...they are young RFAs neither of which made a million last year the Wild can give them hefty raises and still have room. Hell you forgot Kuemper, and they have money for him as well.
Claude Giroux gets busted for grabbing a male cops' butt. Best pun wins.

I'd certainly have taken him back for what the Hawks are paying him; the problem was the absurd contract he had with the Rangers.Blackhawks-Brad Richards. Discuss.
Ouch, that sucks. The hits keep on coming for the City of Buffalo. Rich Jeanneret has cancer.

“I would like to stress I have every intention of coming back,” said Jeanneret. “I have probably three months ahead of me that aren’t going to be fun. I know they aren’t going to be.”
