2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

I went back and watched the play again. The referee is in great position behind the net. He waves his arms to stop play. He NEVER signals a goal (on screen). He rests his arm against the net to keep his balance, but never signals a goal. Extra credit to the announcing crew on NBCSN who explained exactly nothing to us. I have Colorado in my bracket so I'll take it, but I have no idea how that was called a goal...

Re: 2014 Stanley Cup - Don't Toews me, man!!!

Most of us are mad at the flippy flop call of the ref. No goal, then goal. So much for integrity.

I interpreted the ref as signaling that he didn't think the puck had crossed the line initially, and then he saw it in and signaled a goal.

I thought it was a highly questionable call, but I think some are overreacting to the officiating...perhaps rightly so after the Game 5 debacle.

I don't have a dog here, but that's a terrible call made much worse by the ref declaring something that made it un-reviewable. He should have NOT declared in incidental, called it a goal and allowed it to go to Toronto.

The ref screwed up or has money on the game.

First, I don't care who wins the game either.

Second, if you truly think the ref has money on the game, probably worth tuning out the rest of the way.

Finally, I agree with you that the play should have been reviewed. The ref screwed that portion of it up. I just don't agree with some that it should have been obviously overturned. It was highly questionable, but to think the game is fixed because of that? That's pretty funny stuff. :)

@Russostrib 12m #NHL says McCauley didn't wave off goal for incidental contact;McCauley thought it was a high-stick infraction;Officials ruled it was not
