2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Well, to be fair, he's probably right as it stands now with the current hockey conferences. I believe the old WCHA was the exception.

Forgive me if I'm wrong, but I'm thinking even Hockey East doesn't pack whatever that arena is called unless BC & BU are playing each other? Every time I've watched it on TV there are lots of empty seats.

That's a valid point.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

It would help if the badgers didn't seen to have their usual Friday blahs.

Everyone has this 'OMG, PSU stinks, MSU stinks, OSU stinks, MI stinks' thing going on. Now UW stinks. Here's the news, any time there's a single game elimination for their season...teams get defensive. Its what the majority of NCAA games turn into. Its like folks have never seen a playoff game before. The Final Five was not like that in large part because typically UND, Denver, MN, etc moved on to the NCAAs after the tournament.

I agree with SS. These have been very good games and worth the ticket price. MI is the only team that really didn't quite play to its potential.

My god is Wisconsin boring, Penn State too for that matter, though they have a pass for being new. Eaves shoukd be embarrased for playing such a jacques lemaire type style, bleh.

Talking points? This game has had plenty of scoring chances.

Don't let reality get in the way of your perceptions though.

No doubt, PSU is trying to gum it up but the Badgers are trying to push it.

It has nothing to do with "playing style", unless you're just resorting to boring old tropes, which certain fans excel at.

They're all playin horribly, simple as that. Lots of passes to backhands, lack of puck discipline everywhere you look. This is a a fundamentalist's nightmare, and I'm continually amazed that the badgers can have this many senior players and still play like this most Fridays.

Agreed. This is playoff hockey and very similar to the NHL playoffs.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

This is going exactly as PSU would have hoped.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

That's a pretty goal regardless of style of play.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Big goal. UW definitely in good shape. Its going to be hard for PSU to get two straight goals.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

I'd like to be confident - and to be honest, I feel pretty good - but PSU is scrappy.

They definitely won't give up.

And there isn't a shot they don't like. All it takes is one fluke to ruin your night, but I think the Badgers pop another one in here early in the third and that takes the wind out of PSU's sails.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Final minute an absolute clinic by UW as PSU can't even get the puck.

Not pretty, but a win is a win and kudos to PSU who gave a great effort.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

Geez, PSU just doesn't quit. 2nd season of D-1 hockey and they're hanging with well established programs. :o

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

I think Penn State just took another shot from the dressing room.

Re: 2014 Inaugural Big Ten Hockey Tournament 3/20 - 3/22

I heard they might open the door to fans for the late game.
