2014-2015 Union Dutchwomen thread

Re: 2014-2015 Union Dutchwomen thread

nobody cares, mom....[except you I guess].

A word of advice....All you accomplish by whining and constantly trying to 'correct the record' is make the situation worse for the poor kid. Leave it go, mom...leave it go.

And yet you care enough to help perpetuate the lie with your whining.

Whatever.

I can tell you one 'fact'...the only one on here telling fibs and whining is you, mommy dearest. Good luck back in Canada, sorry the dream ended badly for you. :)

I have just been alerted that you think you have been talking to a mother. Interesting to go go back and see the sheer lack of respect I guess because you thought you were talking to a woman. I can tell you you weren't. I can't help but wonder if you would have responded differently if you thought it was a man. And I don't care. So move on. For your daughters' sakes, disabuse yourselves of apparently a very dysfunctional group of parents.

It's too bad the team doesn't score more goals. Lundberg has played well enough over the years to have many more wins than she has. But wins are tough to come by when your team consistently ranks towards the bottom in goals.

Union has a tradition of outstanding goalies and that has tended to mask their lack of success in recruiting skaters who can compete at the D1 level. Strong goalies are sometimes attracted to weak teams because they know that they are going to see a lot of action and are more likely to be credited with single-handed wins. I suspect that Union will win a few games in the ECAC this year and that Lundberg will be the difference.

Re: 2014-2015 Union Dutchwomen thread

I think she's faced more shots already this year than some starting goalies will face this entire season. She just might have the toughest job in all of sports.
She's not alone. Last year, Lundberg faced 867 shots and Dahl saw another 182. By comparison, Hensley at Lindenwood faced 1,301.

That's a LOT of pucks! Anyone know which current 2014-15 goalies have seen the most shots? A top 5 would be interesting.

Lundberg - Union, 479 (that is not a typo)
Hensley - Lindenwood, 383
Vaattovaara - UNH, 372
Krichiver - Minn St, 351
Desjardins - Northeastern, 338

Thanks for doing that rdf.

That's got to be record pace, right? Shocked that Desjardins/Northeastern is on this list. Is there an easy way to see these stats or did you have to manually grab the numbers?

I'm not sure about any records, but you can have a field day with all kinds of numbers here:

This website deserves it's own forum.

Just sorted by # of starts.

QU Laden: 9 starts, only 99 shots on net or 11 shots per game. I think that's lowest for starter.
Union Lundgerg: 13 starts, 479 shots. 36.8 shots per game. Highest as you pointed out.

That tells a story.
