2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Not that it means anything but we have ended the season of the defending national champions the last 2 years on our home ice. Also, we are the only ECAC team to win a playoff series in each of the last 9 seasons.

Just keep winning boys!

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Great Weekend of hockey!!!
Union put up a HUGE fight all weekend. It's been said many times, but I'll say it again. Definitely not a 10th seed team.

I hope Anas is ok. That looked bad. Let's hope its not a serious as it looked.

MarkEagleUSA, We were sitting in your home in 113 tonight. So happy we were able to attend all 3 games this weekend. Wish we were able to head up to Lake placid next week.
Those of you that are going to be there please cheer real loud for all of us!!

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

You should've stopped over and said hi.

Will do next season. Thinking of buying season tickets next season. It's a tough commute from Long Island. Although we did it three times this weekend and survived.

Anyone not listening to the Yale/Harvard game. They are heading into OT 2. http://mixlr.com/whrb/

Not sure if I'd rather see Colgate or Harvard in round 1 next week.

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Great night for the pairwise. Up to 10th. We really need BU to win hockey east so either Vermont, UNH or Lowell doesn't steal a bid. If we reach the final next weekend we may be a lock for the tournament.

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

This was an amazing weekend of hockey! I don't think any of us can say that enough times. There were a lot of good and bad things I saw in all three games. Union being so much more big and tough in their defensive zone proved be be very difficult for QU through at least two games. Anas would be a huge blow if he can not play but there is more than enough fire power to compensate for not having him. St. Denis will have to step up more and so will L. Smith.

Garteig... abso - ****ing - lutely single-handly won this series for us. I hope the kids on campus are buying him a case of beer!

Man I don't know if grabbing Harvard is a good or bad thing. It will make for one amazing hockey game but it will be a BLOOD bath.

Given the other choices, it's a good thing. Q, SLU and Gate are all about even. Yale and Union were coming hard. Harvard's a step down from them, and a team with a good offense should kill them.

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Congratulations to the Bobcats and their fans, and for a great weekend of college hockey. Good luck in LP and beyond. Garteig keeps playing like he did today and you guys are the real deal.

I have met many great people who are fellow fans and to see them tonight with smiles on their faces was priceless. It makes everything worthwhile. All of you (and you know who you are) want only the best for the Bobcats. I'm honored to be able to call you friends!
Priceless!

Agree on above. I would also like to call out Alex Barron - in a good way. He had a great series.

Boy, I don't know who those guys are, but HOT **** they are good looking! Especially the big one in the blue...

What a weekend! Great to see Mark and all the QU faithful again. Saturday's game was a bit of a downer, but then again, I might have had a little to many... err, sodas... at Side Street to remember exactly how the game went down :D

Sunday's game was something else. You simply cannot say enough about how gutsy of a performance that was from QU. I cannot remember Garteig playing a better game in his Bobcat career. Sunday's game was all him. That said, a real gusty performance from a clearly gassed blueline and some timely scoring from Soren helped overcome Anas's injury.

Here's to hoping Anas is alright, and another successful weekend of Bobcats hockey coming up! I can't make Friday's game, but if certain things happen to fall a certain way, a certain someone may be traveling a certain number of hours north to watch a certain team play in a certain historical rink for a certain championship!

Kepler, not sure when it was the last time you saw Harvard in person, but they have most if not all of their early season pieces back in place and are a very dangerous team right now. Michalek is also playing well. I watched both the Yale and Quinnipiac games in person yesterday and if QU is indeed without Anas, I think it will be a very tough matchup. Good luck in LP QU.

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Mark,

Matt and i always enjoy standing with you and Luke. Great effort by both teams, Look forward to your "reports" from Lake Placid.

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!

Re: 2014-2015 Quinnipiac Bobcats: "I hear Boston is nice in April"

Since the ECAC is so nice to charge $10 a game I didn't watch any of the games over the weekend so to anyone who did see it, what happened to Anas?

You're welcome to join us anytime. We've got a pretty good group of diehards up at 113.

BTW, HAPPY BIRTHDAY!
Thanks... :o

what happened to Anas?
Not sure exactly... there was a cluster of guys milling around looking for the puck and Sam seemed to skate through the storm and get tripped up. Not sure if it was getting tripped or landing wrong on the ice but he was clearly favoring his left leg. In the 3rd, he could be seen in the tunnel and I think his dad was down there with him. I'd say that's a good sign because if he were badly injured I would expect to have him go for x-rays, etc, as soon as possible. We likely won't know until Friday what his status is as Rand keeps everything so close to the vest.

Here is the video. Only gives you 90 seconds total to watch (as a preview), so you can find it at the 56:19 time stamp

http://www.ecachockey.com/men/2014-15/Quinnipiac-Union

Right off the faceoff, looks like Union #17 lost his footing while making a play for the puck and just fell right into Anas's knee. Clean play, honest effort, just unfortunate outcome.
