Re: 2014-2015 Official USCHO T.O.P. Thread
Just to prove the point that they can host tournament games at some level, SUNY Plattsburgh has decided to submit an application to host a regional in the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena. One of the most modern designs among rinks in DIII Hockey with its adequately-sized 185'x85' rink, Stafford Ice Arena offers 1,517 permanent seats, along with 407 designated rail spots, which the university feels would be more than sufficient for the types of crowds that actually show up for this tournament each year.
SUNY Plattsburgh does not forsee any conflict with the Women's Tournament of Posters also being hosted at the Stafford Ice Arena. However, in unlikely event that this does happen, SUNY Plattsburgh the would like to illustrate that they have learned their lesson by including a proposal to host participant practice sessions at the Ameri-Can North Sports Center located on the former Plattsburgh Air Force Base. Also, in anticipation of the introduction of online ticket sales next season, SUNY Plattsburgh envisions this tournament as a sort of final hoorah for its incredibly outdated day-of-game-only ticketing procedure. Show up in line early, or don't get in. SUNY Plattsburgh enjoys being a tough ticket to get, like the Boston ared Sox.
And as a final note in order to support its case for hosting the 2015 Tournament of Posters, SUNY Plattsburgh would like to confirm that Bantams75 or any other Trinity fans would, indeed, be welcomed at the Ronald B. Stafford Ice Arena with only minor abuse from the local hockey fans.
