oh my god. It's like talking to a 12-year-old.

Good comeback.
Can't refute anything I'm saying when discussing this thread, decides to call me a child.
If you have evidence of who else has an issue with it...IN THIS THREAD...I'd love to see it.

BAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA Nebraska goes from #19 to out of the AP Poll. After winning.

hahahahahahahaha

Perhaps. From an outsider's point of view, the B1G has always been a very good conference, but failed to have the best teams. After all, the B1G has only won 2 titles (1 shared, 1 granted by officials) in the last 44 years.

You could easily argue that had Miami beaten OSU in that game, that the official had gifted the Hurricanes. People always forget that the refs called a clear in-bounds first-down catch for the Buckeyes out-of-bounds near the end of regulation. If they get that call right, OSU kills the clock and wins in regulation. I see it as a wash (and I actively dislike the Buckeyes).

A Citidel OL said they were going for knees against Florida State (who lost three DTs in that game)

Then his coach jumped on him and he mumbled out an apology.

And that's also why FSU banned Twitter from the team 2 years ago

Sounds like the NCAA has removed all sanctions from Penn State. Postseason ban ends immediately and scholarships return to full next year.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

ESPN is already starting the anti-Big Ten narrative, already declaring no chance for a playoff. Although the "article" declaring that also has no FSU or Oklahoma in the playoff while already putting in Texas A&M. I think if MSU runs the table in convincing fashion they're in, but they'll also need help in the form of the Big 12 and/or ACC/Pac12 beating up on themselves so the champion comes out with two losses.
It's a good thought; glad to see someone taking a positive approach. Certainly it could play out that way.

But from my vantage point, it appears more likely that our league will be shut out of the Top 4 this year. Looking at the results so far, I'm just not seeing any excellent teams. What's often lost in all of the negativity, though, is that there should be plenty of good teams. It looks to be a very entertaining race in both divisions. In other words, a year of parity.

IIRC, 1990 (or thereabouts) was such a season. We had a four way tie for the title; each of the co-champs had two conference losses. National excellence? No. But a fun ride for anyone who gave it a chance? Yes.

Penn State now bowl eligible this year.

NCAA was nicer to Penn State for the administration covering up the rape of children than they were to USC for one guy paying Reggie Bush.

Re: 2014-2015 College Football Thread: A New Era Begins..

That's pretty pathetic. First they go way too light on the Pedo State sanctions to begin with, and they they decide to drop them completely. Embarrassing.

Georgia Tech (11-0-1) and Colorado (11-1-1) both claim the 1990 title. Polls were split between the two, because Tom Osborne got to cast the deciding vote in the Coaches poll. Nebraska had played both teams that year (losing both games), and he probably didn't want to see a conference rival claim it outright. Also, the Huskers got blown out by GT in the Citrus Bowl, so perhaps he felt the Yellowjackets were a better team and had earned the title. Either way, they "shared" it.
