Re: 2014-15 schedules

Looks as if Michigan also picked dates. That will complete their schedule as well. http://www.mgoblue.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/mich-m-hockey-sched.html

EDIT: As did Wisconsin; they will remain one game short. http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/wis-m-hockey-sched.html

And Ohio State: http://www.ohiostatebuckeyes.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/osu-m-hockey-sched.html

And Mich State, which, by disjunctive inference, will complete Penn State's schedule. http://www.msuspartans.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/msu-m-hockey-sched.html

Wisconsin is 2 games short.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Games against D-III teams do not count towards any exemptions in ice hockey.

They aren't playing a game, they are having an informal scrimmage behind closed doors. Does that count? I guess it doesn't matter, they aren't filling the last two games anyways but I guess I'd be curious to know for future reference.

It absolutely counts. The Ivy League does something similar, however Ivy League rules do not count any exhibition or "scrimmage" that doesn't count toward the overall record against their 29 games. Hence why you'll see them with 30 or sometimes 31 games, but still within Ivy rules.

Except over on the D-III St. Norbert thread they say it's now a closed door joint practice.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Wouldn't this make more sense to have as an exhibition game?

I don't believe they can call it an exhibition. Alabama-Huntsville ran into this a couple of years back when they had to put a schedule together following the axing and then saving of their program. They filled in some dates with D-III schools and, IIRC, the NCAA said any games against a NCAA team at any level counts against your 34 game limit and your NCAA record. But those types of games do not count towards your number of games you need to be tournament eligible.

Again, going off of my fuzzy memory here......
