Re: 2014-15 schedules

RIT's schedule is listed under 'events' under Mens Hockey on the mobile site. I can't find it on the real site (although it should eventually be here: http://www.ritathletics.com/schedule.aspx?schedule=346&path=mhock)

According to this, RIT isn't in the Mariucci.
24th Annual Mariucci Classic
01/02/15 UMass-Lowell, RPI, Merrimack Mariucci Arena TBA
01/03/15 UMass-Lowell, RPI, Merrimack Mariucci Arena TBA

Then again, according to this they are. Go figure.
24th Annual Mariucci Classic Jan. 2-3 with the Maroon & Gold hosting UMass-Lowell, RIT and Merrimack.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Do you know if LSSU plays at Michigan State this season?

According to FlagDude's schedule, yes. Based on how the Big Ten schedule is set up and now the news of the Princeton series, I think it will be a some time in October or the 14th and 15th of November if it's correct.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

That's UConn

And that's HE for inviting a program that has the equivalent of a $hitty HS rink.
Don't worry about the rink, claver. It will be up and running for the 2016-2017 season. As to playing a few games in Bridgeport, while I don't love it, Maine and UNH play in Manchester every year, so what's the big deal? Its part of their branding effort in Fairfield County, and if it occurs when the expectations for the program are pretty low anyway, what's the harm. Based on the hoops experiment, it makes some sense to try it out. In that case they raised ticket prices, paid a lower rent than at the XL, and sold out a game against a horrible team. UConn made a killing on that deal. So why not give it a shot with some hockey when they don't have a real "home" anyway?

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Ohio State schedule released today as well.

With the release of the Big 10 composite schedule, It should just about complete Wisconsin's schedule
http://www.uwbadgers.com/sports/m-hockey/sched/wis-m-hockey-sched.html

If Wisconsin's is complete, then they're two games short.

I won't call any of the Big Ten schedules complete until they pick dates on those choices of two.

LSSU plays at UAH November 14-15. Possible dates are October 17-18, December 19-20 and January 2-3.

Why hasn't the WCHA released a conference composite schedule yet? All the league games and dates are known.

I had heard that LSSU would play Michigan State on one of Jim Roque's weekly shows last year. I am not sure if that was starting in 2014-15 or the 2015-16 season.

LSSU was originally scheduled to play Tech on the 17-18 of October, so maybe that series got moved to make room for the Lakers to play MSU.

December 19-20 is most likely out. State usually just plays a series at the end of finals week and then takes off until the GLI, which would be the 13th-14th of December this year. That leaves the two possible weekends of October 17-18 and January 2-3. Usually MSU doesn't play another series until the weekend before classes start which would be the 9th and 10th of January. So unless they're doing something different this year it looks like October 17-18 would be the best guess.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

I believe there was an exhibition game added for Minnesota on October 4. They play Northern Alberta Institute of Technology.

Re: 2014-15 schedules

Those games could be rendered meaningless by then. Also good chance students are on break depending on where the schedule lies.
Just because the game could me meaningless for HE standings does not mean the game would be meangingless. BU-BC will always be a big game for fans, regardless of each teams position in the league standings. In fact, over on the BU thread has been some talk about wanting am annual third, non-conference game played at the Garden, a meaningless game as far Hockey East is concerned.

Also, in the past BU and BC have played when one or both of the schools are on break. It is being mentioned that if the 2014-15 schedule flips the league games from last season that the BC at BU game will be played while BU students are on break. As for the end of the RS and each school's spring break, BU only has next years schedule up, but BC has through spring 2018 up. It looks like BC's spring break is the week before BU's, the first full week of March, while BU's is the second full week of March. Using BC's schedule, extrapolating BU's as the next week and extrapolating the end of the HE regular season from the dates of the Frozen Four through 2018 here are the probable dates:

2014-15
HE end of RS 27-28 Feb*
BC Spring Break 28 Feb-8 March
BU Spring Break 7-15 March

2015-16
HE end of RS 26-27 Feb*
BC Spring Break 5-13 March
BU Spring Break 12-20 March*

2016-17
HE end of RS 24-25 Feb*
BC Spring Break 4-12 March
BU Spring Break 11-19 March*

2017-18
HE end of RS 23-24 Feb*
BC Spring Break 3-11 March
BU Spring Break 10-18 March*

So next season will end at the start of BC's break, but the three seasons after that will likely all end the weekend before BC begins spring break.

MSU also is hosting Clarkson. The only open dates I see are October 4 & 5, December 12 & 13, December 19 & 20, or January 2 & 3.

The October dates are awful early, but if the December & January dates are out for MSU, the October might be the only option.
