2013 off season banter

Re: 2013 off season banter

After seeing Wisconsin – Eau Claire play this weekend I’m ready to concede the 2014 Pool B bid to them. ECAC West will be looking for the Pool C bids.

Maybe, maybe not. We all conceded the NCHA title and an NCAA title defense to SNC at the beginning of the year. The games are played on ice, not in the admissions office.

Well they did win the NCHA title.

"IF" they can beat or split with SNC and CSS, end up on top of the WIAC, and hope a couple other WIAC teams do well against the other tow leagues mid-pack teams, they should be VERY strong in Pool B.

This year Utica received the Pool B. Depending on the WIAC schedule, the SoS may take a hit over years past, so I would not be so ready to concede the Pool B title to the WIAC just yet.

Not so fast! They graduate 11 seniors including the goalie that backstopped them all year. 2014 is a new year for all.

yes they do,very top heavy team, kind of went unmentioned as Oswegos 14 seniors got most of that hype.....they seemed to have loaded up on transfers, D1/D3 so who knows??

Re: 2013 off season banter

I did some data crunching which started with just SUNYAC (so I posted that too), but then someone raised the question about UWEC and losing seniors. It's been well documented about Oswego and their large group of seniors, but as you can see Oswego is not the only team out there with holes, but some big points to fill next year. On the flip side, you can see a lot of top teams are still bringing back 80% of their offense in 2013-2014. No it doesn't mean a lot, but you can take a look at % of seniors loss to the % of points/goals loss and see what type of impact players the teams are losing.

Re: 2013 off season banter

Looks like we are number 1 after all but not in a good way. Platty had a bunch of frosh skating this year; what was their senior % last year?
More importantly does anyone think Fishman81 is really mrgoalie from years past?

I can't give you a percentage, but last year Plattsburgh graduated 5 seniors, the same as this year. They were: Kyle Taylor, Vick Schlueter, Matty McLeod, Ryan Craig and Kyle Kudroch. In addition, they lost three extra players - two transferred (Jeff Vanzant, Cortland; Zachary Blake, Potsdam) and Jordan Gidaro (don't know where he went.)

Yep I would say we are in a pretty good hole if you guys were at 32% this year. 32% seems a daunting task but you guys did pretty well. I would suppose the % only shift +-10% as we get closer to the new season?

Re: 2013 off season banter

Obviously bored and found this.
