2013 off season banter

Re: 2013 off season banter

Ok, the 2012-13 season has ended, and hats off to a team who's time has come

Now for the important stuff - some off season banter - November 1 is a long ways away ;)

2012 NCAA Ice Hockey Rules Exam – Most Missed Questions and Supporting Clarifications: Questions 1-5

Thank you for this. I hope fans will read the link as many will learn things they didn't know--I know I did.
Question, am I understanding correctly that 4 officials will be required next year for D3 hockey regular season games?

I, for one am looking forward to the annual SUNYAC preseason analysis.
With the huge exodus of seniors, where do you place a much younger Oswego team?
When the roster is posted and numbers assigned...then we may know what we are looking at...the buzz of commits posted around so far has been good, but until they show up to enroll and make the team......

how about 8 D1 recruits?? that would spark up the team... we know that Oz has to bring in at least 16 recruits to be at what looks to be the average # of players on the roster,26ish....So if we have 20 commitments, we know 3 or 4 will not show up as has been in the past.last yr we had 3 and 2 arrived on campus..Would not be surprised to see a goalie transfer, nothing against Gilbert but to go into the season with a untested soph and 2 freshmen goalies would be suicide, mainly because we only have 9 skaters returning, and most were 3rd/4th line ...Its wait and see.

Re: 2013 off season banter

I suspect an appearance in Maine is in order for the Birds.

I'll try to call the FF for next season here.... Probably won't work, but i'll take a crack.

-Plattsburgh will make it with a young group having a year under their belts and as it stands now, the inside track to the top spot in the SUNYAC. I will never count Oswego out, but they may have some growing pains to contend with here.
-Utica will join them. The only top-level skill player the Pioneers are losing is Chlanda. They are taking a hit on the Blue Line with the loss of Etts, Adams, and Schmitt. But the returners are still very good (Slowikowski, Zappia, Oliveri, Baird, Marshall) If they can replenish that area with a halfway decent recruit to plug into the D-Corps, they should be back without incident.
-Adrian One goal away and everyone that matters except Graham will return. They'll down a solid St. Norbert team in the quarters and advance to Lewiston.
-UMASS-Boston. Here's my really ballsy pick. Goaltending is on the shopping list this offseason but the path is clear for the Beacons to take the top spot in the ECAC-E IMO.

Long offseason ahead. We'll see how wrong i am in about.... 365(ish) days.
