Tried a new strategy in Fanduel this week. Instead of going in a few tournaments, with higher entry fees (for example, last week I was in 3 tournys, a $1, $2, and $5) this week I entered 9 $1 tournaments. Lower payouts, high probability of getting into the money. Out of the 9, I have 2 teams that I am pretty sure will be in the money, and 1 more that could get there if the right players hit tonight. (none are currently in the money, but the 2 are very close and both have 2 or 3 guys going tonight).
Hit big with the team I had Nick Foles on, also had DeSean Jackson on that team, and the Chiefs D. I have Jordy Nelson, Martellus Bennett and Mason Crosby left to go, I'm a little ways out of the money, in terms of standings, but it only amounts to about 15 fantasy points, so I should be able to make that up. Pretty sure this one will be in the money.
My other good team is only 4 spots out of the money, so if I have a good showing tonight, this one could bring home some decent winnings. Zac Stacy, Keenan Allen and Jimmy Graham anchored this team so far, along with some decent showings from the Cowboy's D and Garrett Hartley, and a disappointing, but not terrible day for Marshawn Lynch. Need Josh McCown and Alshon Jeffery to connect a few times to get into the bigger money on this one.
Overall, I should be making money, but not big money, I'm guessing I'll take home about $15 in winnings, from my $9 in entry fees. Anytime I don't lose, I feel good! Especially when you only have to really hit big once every 2 or 3 weeks to make a nice chunk of change. I took home a $50 payday in NFL last month, and a $90 finish for an NHL league last week, both were $1 entries.
