2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Roenicke forced to shake things up for tonight -

Gomez
Herrera
Gennett
Davis
Overbay
Reynolds
Bianchi
Maldonado
Lohse

should be interesting. I'm not sure why Luc isn't playing.

Hellweg had his TJ surgery today.

Yikes. This looks like a spring training lineup. Then again, most of our regulars don't seem to do so well against Lynn so maybe these guys will do better?

Wouldn't you know it? Our pitching finally looks great and now we have no depth. Even our starting lineup isn't going to strike fear into any opposing pitcher's heart.

Kinda like those Braves teams used to be not that I'm saying we have Maddox, Glavine, Smoltz, etc...

Wow...this is fun. I don't want this ride to end. In my wallet, I had a ticket from the Quad sports book...in November I put $5 on Milwaukee to win it all...at 60-1 odds. I say "had" because I had to take it out...I kept looking at it and it was getting worn out. I know, I know.....way too early to look ahead....but a man can dream.

20-7 and 11-1 on the road. This is pretty unbelievable. They've had no business winning a bunch of these games.

Segura, Braun and Ramirez not back yet.

And I'm not sure how the Yankees work their offdays, but I think CC may pitch on Saturday night in Milwaukee. I have tickets on Sunday, so Mr. Girardi, if you could push him back one day, that'd be great, thanks.

Segura pinch hit last night. Had a nasty cut on his cheek just under his eye. What a freak accident, and lucky that it wasn't worse.

that must have been during one of my naps. :D

It's Wednesday, and you know what that means...

Happy Wei-Chung Wang Wednesday!

I love these. Looooove. Thornburg stole the show in the last one. I think that honor goes to Duke this time (or maybe that's Kintzler in front?)

Maldonado not only throws a nice jab, but can also pitch at least 1 scoreless inning

Wooten called up, Herrera sent down. Segura and Ramirez expected back tonight.

Have not seen anything on Braun, but I assume he's still out. I'm sure Cardinal fans were really disappointed they didn't get to boo him (while they cheer for Jhonny Peralta).

The Brewers could REALLY use an offday right now.

<a href="http://grantland.com/the-triangle/milwaukee-brewers-incredible-2014-start-francisco-rodriguez/">Jonah Keri on how the horrific 2013 season helped the 2014 Brewers</a>.

The paragraph on Juan Francisco was a highlight. :D

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Jim Henderson to the 15 day DL with shoulder inflammation, which hopefully explains his outing yesterday.

Caleb Gindl called up. I believe Schaefer is coming back on Saturday.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

So what is with these guys and the month of May?

Time to turn it around, boys.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

The question should be what was it with these guys in the month of April?

Luck. :p

They do have some talent, but not on par with how many games they won in April - more than a few they didn't really deserve.

If the pitching falters, it's more obvious that the offense is struggling. Having Braun on the DL certainly doesn't help.

so I've been stalking the Yankee rotation, and am hoping they give the Big Fella an extra day off after his poor outing yesterday (although I really doubt it). Did I mention I have tickets for Sunday? And with this demand-based pricing stuff, a single for Saturday in my usual section is $66? Blech. I'd really like to see him, but not for $80.

Re: 2013 Milwaukee Brewers - Cheaters, Underachievers and Disappointments Oh My!

Thank God they built up that big lead in April, this past week has been brutal. Hope the off day helps get these guys back on track. I would love to see the Brewers get back on track against a pedestrian Yankee's club.

*edit* The Yankee's come to town with a -18 run differential. Not that that means anything, since the Brewers dropped two to the Diamondbacks who have a -62 run differential.

Effing Arroyo. Just a challenging game all around. Peralta was not sharp, but got out of a lot of jams.

The third run really burned them. It was a play Luc should have had - the runner would have advanced only 1 base. Instead he goes to third, and then scores on the Overbay error.

And then of course, they load the bases in the 8th with 1 one out... and Gomez GIDP on the first pitch.

Braun's due back Tuesday? Not soon enough.
