Re: 2013 DI BCS Thread: Thorthu Thame ish bacth!

I know the Big 12 is bad, but Baylor gets in if they're one of two undefeateds.

Perhaps...I haven't run the numbers much to see exactly how it would play out. It would probably depend on when Alabama lost and how they recouped. For example, if Alabama lost against LSU next weekend (especially if it were a very close game), I don't see them dropping much further than maybe 4th in the polls. Considering that a 1-loss Auburn, Missouri, and Oklahoma are all ahead of Baylor in the computers at this point, my guess would be that Alabama would probably edge Baylor out there as well. Then assume that Alabama wins out, including victories over Auburn and Missouri (or USC), I just don't see Baylor jumping Alabama in that scenario.

Now, of course, if say, Alabama, Oregon, and Baylor were all undefeated heading into the Championship Week and Alabama lost, then Baylor would almost assuredly get in. I guess my point is that I think it depends on when Alabama loses as to whether an undefeated Baylor would get a shot.

That being said, I don't see Alabama losing.

I'll be nervous the whole time either way. Haven't seen them this focused in 13 years though

My guess is you'll be nervous until about 2:00 minutes left...in the first quarter (okay, maybe not quite that early).

FSU is a great team this year, and I don't see them dropping the ball. Famous Jameis is something special. While I hope that the U can pull off the upset, I won't hold my breath. :)

Yes, they'd jump them right now because Baylor hasn't played anyone.

Now, add in wins over #10 Oklahoma, #15 Texas Tech, #18 Oklahoma State, TCU, and a Texas team that isn't far from the rankings with four straight wins.

If they finish 5-0 they're in over any one loss teams; but they'd need to be one of two unbeaten teams. They won't get in over any of the other unbeaten teams, IMO.

So... since the "Karma" tweet by Bielema's bimbo, things haven't gone so well. I do believe that the Razorbacks are winless and face #8 Auburn this weekend.

Loving it and so glad he's gone.

Could he be fired after only one season? I'm starting to think it's possible.

You know, I never really have understood all of the angst towards Beilema in Madison prior to his departure. I loved giving him **** as did many others, but it was all kind of based off a false perception or something. All the guy did was win ball games. I understand not liking him for jumping ship outta nowhere before the Rose Bowl.

In some circles it had to do with his behavior around town, which was far from exemplary.

Wrong-O.

Many (most?) of us were thrilled that he left and never liked him from the start.

Being Barry's chosen one, we were afraid that we'd be stuck with him forever.

Didn't like him when he was here, love seeing him fall on his face there.

I guess we'll have to agree to disagree. I think that if Alabama loses to LSU, but then wins out, they would finish ahead of an undefeated Baylor, almost certainly in the human polls, and probably in the computers (and if not in the computers, probably close enough to where the 2/3 human vote would push them in front).

Hopefully we'll be lucky enough to find out who was/is right. :p:D:D

Might've been the arrogant dickitude.

Might've been how often he blew it in big games.

Might've been the parts where he got drunk at frat houses and tried to score with coeds.

Might've been the rumors that Barry himself would sometimes have to pick him up when he got too drunk.

Might've been the part where he left the program while the team was preparing for a Rose Bowl bid.

So again, what's the problem if he's in Madison? All sounds quite normal for that town. :p

The absence of the Seattle Seahawks in this list makes it completely non-credible.

The guys from Tennessee and he only had so much room with ten slots. He's got a lot of SEC bias there, but to be honest, the are all pretty dumb down there. Heck, even if he had done a top 15, Seahawk fans would be hard pressed to edge out the Packers, Cornhuskers, Longhorns, Wolverines, LA Lakers, and Maple Leafs fans for his slots of 11 to 15.
