2013 Beantown Women's Classic

Re: 2013 Beantown Women's Classic

Ouch. If my eyes are not failing me and if results online are to be believed it looks like University of Maine lost to UMass Boston

Results now updated as of 1.15 pm. East Coast Jets (= BC) won 11-0 this morning! I should be able to make it to the semis and final tomorrow, looking forward to it.

Id say thats about right given they were a team of d1 superstars playing against D3 kids from middle of the pack programs

If that was the early game, I heard it was a forfeit because UMaine didn't get their team there on time. They skated with some borrowed skaters for about half the game.

Re: 2013 Beantown Women's Classic

Terrible performance by the Jets (BC) against Celine (Harvard) on Saturday night, losing 4-1, but the Jets turned it round and beat Celine 3-2 in the semi (after being up 3-0) and then N-A Selects (BU) 3-0 in the final. So we finally got the BC/BU showdown we'd been wanting since Thanksgiving. The final, one 30 minute period, was very entertaining: lots of traffic in front of the goal at the BU end, lots of great saves on mid-range shots at the BC end from Brittany Ott, formerly of Maine. Opening goal (and GWG) from Skarupa off a pass from Field; other two goals scored by Taylor Wasylk.
