2013-14 Schedules Thread

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

One of Bentley's opponents is now unknown. This will complete AIC's non-conference schedule.

It would not surprise me if Bentley's final NC game is vs. Quinnipiac.

I would be fine trading UML for Quinnipiac; although a longer drive, I have family with bunk space in the area.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

I have added Canisius and Niagara playing Air Force on October 25th and 26th, respectively. I would be incredibly shocked if they don't, given they each have a game the opposite night vs. Denver.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Looking at your spreadsheet I notice the NC games left at the bottom. Could we try to take a guess at the outcomes here:

Army 3
Minn-Mankato 2
NMU 2
Quinnipiac 1
Cornell 1
Niagara 1
Sacred Heart 1
Bentley 1

My guess is:
Cornell at Niagara
Bentley at Quinnipiac
Army at Minn-Mankato for 2
NMU at Army
NMU at Sacred Heart

Reasoning:
Cornell owes Niagara a game
The Q warrants home ice after their show last season
Mankato has travelled east before for a pair of games and should be due to have an eastern team visit
Army and Sacred Heart are very close to each other(65 miles and 1 1/2 hours) and would be a good weekend visit near NYC. Play one Friday, take in NYC Saturday and then the other Sunday for I am not sure if the rules allow you to stay another day if you play Fri/Sat

Mankato, NMU, and Army have all released schedules. Mankato and NMU I wouldn't be surprised if they remained short, given each already has 38 games scheduled (the Alaska exemptions are the main reasoning for that). UCONN I checked the schedule again at http://goalmouthradio.com/?p=219 and it seems that the tournament game this year, despite what has happened in previous years, will not be a conference game. This eliminates Sacred Heart's NC game and adds one for Merrimack. They also released one game short. I can't remember the last time Army had a full schedule when you consider all the exemptions. Them staying short is fairly safe. Bentley and Q-Pac I'm in agreement. Niagara/Cornell is an interesting possibility, but the only problem with it is that I'm not sure when they'd have an opening to play. Sure, there looks to be "open weekends" in January, but I'm already fairly certain Niagara will be filling those with league games. Maybe the Tuesday before Thanksgiving or at some point in December, but even December seems fairly full.

As for your question on when to arrive or leave, the rule is that you must arrive no earlier than 48 hours before start time, and leave no later than 24 hours after the final horn. The only exception to this rule is when the travelling school is under an official break. This is what Mankato is doing; they will be making one trip to Alaska to play four games over two weekends in early January, i.e. Christmas break.

So the switch for Merimack from Sacred Heart makes the list now:

Army 3
Minn-Mankato 2
NMU 2
Quinnipiac 1
Cornell 1
Niagara 1
Merrimack 1
Bentley 1

I believe you are right about Mankato and NMU stopping at 38 and Army does usually play under 34. However the other teams would probably like to schedule those last games and now it could be possible if Army schedules one of those 3. Merrimack opens up another possibility for Niagara as they had played out in Lewiston, NY a couple of years ago so Niagara could possibly play them in North Andover. If so then Army at Cornell would fill it out.

What about Cornell playing Merrimack? They could do it around December 14th. Obviously we have to be careful about if that's when their final exams are, as Ivy League is typically very strict about no games during Finals week. Perhaps one of the Cornell grads can give insight as to when finals are?

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

This is Niagara's NC schedule:

@ Denver for 1
@ Michigan for 1
@ Ohio State for 2
Cornell ... not sure where
Clarkson at NU, for 2

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

The Niagara v Cornell game is on the Tuesday before Thanksgiving ... in Ithica.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Your earlier guess that Niagara plays at Denver on 10/25 is correct.

Niagara is also at Ohio State on Nov 8-9 and at Michigan on Nov 22.

For Niagara's NC schedule, that leaves only Clarkson dates unknown ... I would guess they come to Dwyer Arena in October.

The only problem with them playing that in October is that I don't believe Clarkson is available then. A few posts back, I did some analysis on when they can play this series, and I believe Thanksgiving weekend was the best time.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

That certainly could be ... I did not look, just on historical I know Niagara usually plays a couple NC games in October. If Clarkson is not available, then they would not have any home NC games until November (only Denver on the road).

I'll see if I can find out.

Thanks much; you've been of great help. You should be able to find a link to a spreadsheet with all 59 teams' schedules if you'd like to see what Clarkson's schedule looks like thus far. Be aware that I can't access it from my present location, so Niagara/Cornell will be in there later tonight.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

Out of the gate early!

Niagara v Clarkson (at Dwyer Arena):
Saturday, Oct.5 at 7pm
Sunday, Oct. 6th at 3pm

Interesting. That would complete Clarkson's schedule. Now we need to fill in your conference schedule. ;) If no dates are available, do we at least know how games will be played at the various locations? Specifically AIC, Bentley, Sacred Heart, Air Force, and Canisius.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

The only dates I know are (but I think you may have):
Dec 6 & 7 at UConn
Army @Dwyer on Fri-Sat, Nov 15-16
@RIT on Sat, Dec 14 (Frontier Field outdoor game)
HC @Dwyer on Fri-Sat, Jan 17-18

If I happen across any more info, I will pass it along but otherwise I'll wait for the conference schedule to be announced.

Both mar7967 and I have the other RIT games, the Mercyhurst games, and the Robert Morris games posted on our respective spreadsheets (his is AHA specific, mine is all of D-I men). He may have heard something I haven't, and has also placed hypotheses on his. I would guess you get Air Force at home for 2, especially given you're headed out there for 1.

I think I know what you mean.
For this year...
AIC is @ Niagara (I think there are only two possible weekends available for this game)
Bentley and Sacred Heart should be at home(@ Niagara for this previous year)

After checking, there's a problem with this: Clarkson's playing an exhibition game on October 5th already. Their schedule is not complete, as there is now a discrepancy.
