2013-14 Schedules Thread

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

I am curious with the Bowling Green Falcons new schedule has nine two over nighters. How is this going to effect a program that didnt have to travel much in the CCHA?

not sure what you mean, never had to travel much. BG's been going to Alaska for years. We used to travel to Omaha. It's always been 500 miles to Marquette, no change there. Huntsville is what, 550 miles? not much farther than Marquette.

but pretty much everybody will be traveling more in CCHA- and WCHA-land, yes? them's the breaks of the new alignment. Miami and Western don't have to go to Alaska anymore, but the rest of their trips are loooong.
we'll all get used to it.

if I had to guess...the 'general fees' charged to students will go up, and/or they can tweak the general fees allocation. fiscal year 2012, the athletics dept. got 49.5% of the general fees. fiscal year 2013, their share went up to 50.7%. next year, ?
either way, the students pick up a big chunk of athletic operating expenses.
probably not much different than a lot of schools.

Unofficial UCONN schedule from Goalmouth radio.
http://goalmouthradio.com/?p=219

A couple of discrepancies:

1. They say they're playing Providence, but Providence already has a full schedule, with a game vs. Merrimack on the appointed date.
2. You're playing Sacred Heart four times. It's possible that the tournament game is non-conference, of course, but that's not what typically happens.
3. BU is already playing Maine on November 17th.
NOTE: Both of the Hockey East discrepancies involve HE opponents that will be playing at Frozen Fenway. It is possible that UCONN will be playing at the times they mentioned, and the Frozen Fenway games will turn into league contests.
NOTE 2: UCONN is already shown as playing Providence on February 11th.

The first game of the UConn tourney is usually a conference game.

Re: 2013-14 Schedules Thread

They are two games short. :( Granted, they also have six exempt games.

I believe LSSU was going to play NMU in a non-conference series in the Sault, but LSSU got an offer from Notre Dame and took those games instead of the NMU ones. I think that's why NMU is two games short.

I know that, hence the last phrase of item 2. ;)
this schedule is not the "official" one so there could be discrepancies/changes when the official one is released. With respect to the Providence game, I was surprised to see it listed in November. I had previously seen it listed for later in the season. I suspect that is an error. As far as the Sacred Heart game in the Holiday tournament, I heard that there had been a screw up in the league office when they made the master schedule and they didn't include the tourney game as a league game. At the end of the day, both schools decided that it was fine as it was so it will not be a league game and they will play 3 other times in league competition. I don't know what the deal is on the BU game. It has been reported for a while and I think it has always been listed for November. I am not certain it will be the date listed here.

One of the USCHO correspondents had reported previously that there are talks that some of the Frozen Fenway games will be converted to league games. BU and Maine play in that event, and are the conflict in the date your linked schedule mentioned. Thanks for the info about the tournament as well; when I get a chance, I will update the schedule list accordingly.
