Seems having the weekend off might have been a good thing. Lot's went on around the league and will make for an interesting week to come.

You said it well when you said a lot went on in the league this weekend – player fights, coaches throwing punches, numerous suspensions, and some interesting games. Maybe it was a good weekend for the Bobcats not to play…

Sunday recruit stats

Kevin McKernan 1 assist
Sean Lawrence 18 saves on 19 shots in the 4-1 win.
Johnny DeRoche 1 goal 1 assist
Ryan Finnegan 1 goal 4 assists (his linemate Jason O'Neil had 5 goals and 1 assists, doesn't seem to be committed to anyone either) on Sunday. On Saturday Finnegan had 1 goal 3 assists.

DeRoche is on small side but has the hands of another Lynnfield native and former BU Terrier Chris Higgins.

One thing we all know is that Union and RPI are ****ed off. Too bad the game last night did not count in the ECAC standings. The last ten games and playoffs will be a meat grinder for every team, great stuff, probably better than when we had pros in town.

Up to number 3 in the rankings...

About half the ECAC is nipping at QU's (tied of 2nd place) heals. With QU done playing out of conference opponents, time to buckle down and take care of business on a game-to-game basis. No run away division title to be had here this year.

USPHL U16 scoring leader Alex Whelan of the NJ Hitmen chooses Quinnipiac. 33 goals and 36 assists in 24 games this year. For his high school team he has 25 goals and 21 assists. Reigning North Jersey Player of the year for Ramsey HS last year. We beat out UMass Lowell, Colgate and Princeton for him.

He is listed at 5'11 193 pounds. Wonder how much more height he will add.

We now have the top 3 scoring leaders of the USPHL league U16 division in Whelan, DeRoche and Finnegan.

The 2016-17 recruiting class is really starting to come together with some really talented forwards in Alex Whelan, Johnny DeRoche and Ryan Finnegan the top 3 scorers in the U16 division of the USPHL. Also in the class is DJ Petruzelli who is playing really well this year for Springfield Cathedral one of the better hockey programs in the state.

Hello all! It's been a busy couple of weeks at work. Hope all are doing well. Last week I locked up a ticket for the final weekend at home against Cornell and Colgate, so I hope to see you all then. It won't be hard to find me ... I'll be wearing my recently purchased 09-10 Brandon Wong home jersey! Found it on eBay a couple of weeks ago and it finally came in the mail today. It's a thing of beauty. I also just got around to finally watching the Bennett v RPI situation. Some that know me know that I love Bennett. He is the nicest coach I've ever interviewed. He was always polite and never gave a conceited or sarcastic answer. I was a bit surprised to see him lose it. Looks like that rivalry just got a hell of a lot more interesting.

1 game on tap for us this weekend with a trip to Dartmouth. Olympic ice tonight. Can't take Dartmouth lightly even though they are towards the bottom of the ECAC. Hopefully the team is rested and getting healthy.

Connor Clifton has been on crutches all week and I believe Kellen has had a wrist wrap. We'll see if both play. I'd imagine Kellen does, dont know bout Connor

That's surprising on Connor considering he got hurt against Merrimack and came back into the game and finished the game.

Almost but not quite. It's listed as 200x90 so it's closer to NHL size.

Dartmouth always seems to play us tough. We will need to be focused for the full 60 minutes.

Whatever happened to CC must've left a mark, and I think it will be rather difficult to keep Kellen out of the lineup. They've had 2 weeks to rest and recover so it will be interesting to see if they dress tonight.

Points are extremely important from here on out, as is getting a solid effort from everyone. It's crunch time and this is where we separate the men from the boys.

I had hoped to make the trip to Hanover but without a travel partner (or 3) that 3-1/2 hr ride home is a killer.

Thanks to the ILDN I was only able to watch the 3rd period. Sure sounded like they dominated from the opening faceoff. First goal a scant 8 seconds in and the rout was on. Congrats to JST for joining the 100 club.

It was good to hear that they were skating hard and taking care of business. From what I saw in the 3rd they totally outclassed Dartmouth. Garteig gave up one he probably wished he could have back but other than that the Big Green couldn't get anything going. Meyers did a great job in relief and it was nice to see him get more than a couple of minutes. Garteig has been a workhorse but we need to know there's adequate backup if the need arises.

Overall a very good effort. Back in first for the time being.

The Bobcats looked like a team that was sick of practicing and wanted action!

Enjoyed Brooks Robinson doing the colour on WQUN with Bill.
