The hit itself was pretty bang bang though. Kronwall changed direction at the last possible moment and they were both going full speed. If anything, McCleod (sp?) shouldn't have finished so hard, but the contact was probably inevitable at the time that Kromwall turned.

Those types of plays happen awfully fast in real time. It really looked like K was going to continue into the corner until... he didn't.

And I'm agreeing with you there, definitely something he shouldn't have said, especially as a broadcaster.

Yes, it was bang bang; yes, Kronwall tried reversing back up the boards, but McLeod saw numbers the entire way in from the blueline. Inexcusable.

For the record, I would be saying the same with any player, not just because it was Kronwall who got injured. The game has gotten so fast that these hits are yielding life-changing injuries, and need to be punished accordingly.

Don't know if he actually shot it, or was simply credited with it, but Mike Smith for PHX scored into the empty net with less than a second left against the Wings.

He came very close to one in the series clincher against Nashville in the 2012 playoffs. Went just a foot or two wide, if I remember correctly.

Oh great. Mike *ing Smith now gets to be mentioned in the same breath as Brodeur, Rhodes, etc.

Ah well. As a Wings fan, I'm used to games like this. Ultimately, these events don't matter when the playoffs roll around.

I think Howard is still hurting from something but won't admit to it. Hasn't played 100% all preseason or the beginning of this season.

Well, he's shut down San Jose through 60... looking good so far.

It is now 6-1 Ottawa in Detroit. Howard was chased early and the Wings are looking lifeless tonight.

John Scott with a dirty hit on Louis Erikkson....elbow to the head. He should get 10 games for that.

Claude Julien is rightfully upset.

At some point the NHLPA needs a sit down with its members and says stop this crap or we're not going to support you in any appeal. You're killing the livelihood of other PA members.

10 may be too light this was a deliberate come 1/2 way across the rink to deliver a blow to hurt, not to check.
