To be fair, I believe that the complaints are only regarding certain Gopher fans (ahem), not all Gopher fans.

Again, not saying that the metrics point to UND being heavy favorites, but the fans and media's perception seems to be that they are. So, don't be surprised to see the media make a big deal out of Western win should they pull off the upset.

I seem to remember BC and Cornell going toe to toe with the almighty Badgers...both times in your backyard. Didn't win, but certainly went toe to toe in hostile environments.

There is plenty of credit... I mean blame to go around for this thread sucking. Enough on both the Gopher and whioux side. But that being said let's agree to just blame Gurt. He's the only one blatently trolling with no vested interest in the region. All in favor? :D

Maybe most of us are more realistic than the average Gopher fan. I thought last year's team was the best in college hockey. I thought they were rightfully favored to win it all. Of course, it's hockey. Better yet, it's one and done hockey, so anything can happen.

I was referring to going into the NCAAs and the context of the Gophers losing that first Friday night. Going into the tourney, neither Cornell or BC were seen as sure contenders.

I've said elsewhere that Cornell gave us a heck of a time - easily our biggest challenge.

I recently re-watched the game against BC and I wouldn't say that BC went "toe to toe" with us other than on the scoreboard. The chances were heavily in favor of the Badgers and the game could have easily been a 5-1 affair. That said, it wasn't and BC had a chance at the end.

Is there an Accomplishments by Minnesotans in Hockey handbook or something?

That's because you're a dumb***.

This site was created to allow hockey fans across the country to read about and discuss college hockey. It isn't GPL or its predecessor POI.

Of course, it has turned into a melting pot of morons, but that's neither here nor there.

I don't believe I EVER advocated for ANY sort of exclusitivity in who can or should post here. On the contrary, it was FS23 who lamented Gopher fans who "troll" (aka.. Have thoughts and opinions he doesn't agree with) here. I was just pointing out that it is rather rude to wish for the exclusion of Gopher fans on this site when the site's very existence is owed to a Gopher fan. Perhaps you would have known that had you followed the discussion in its entirety.

May I clarify something? Thanks.

I wasn't trying to put WMU possibly beating UND on the same level as Holy Cross beating Minnesota. I was just trying to make a joke about buying up all the WMU gear we can find to mock what some UND fans did with Holy Cross jerseys in that instance. It's not something I even plan on doing. I was just trying to make a funny and it did not work(apparently). I was in no way trying to compare WMU to the Holy Cross debacle.

I've followed the discussion, genius. Wishing for the banishment of Gopher trolls (or trolls of any other allegiance) isn't remotely rude regardless of the affiliation of who started this site. Repeatedly steering threads off-topic makes you a tool, and nobody likes you. I can tolerate the typical UW or UND fan far better than I can tolerate you, and that is saying something because most of them are the rough equivalent of *** fungus.
