2012 WCHA Semi Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

Re: 2012 WCHA Semi Final: Minnesota vs. North Dakota

I completely agree. I am very disappointed in the effort and the execution of the team tonight. I wasn't surprised that Minnesota won the game, I was surprised however that they beat a team that didn't try all too often. the Gophers shut them down offensively, made UND's defense seem slow, and make Ney look helpless. I don't know what else to say except this one was one-sided, and now we leave it in the almighty hands of the "Selection Committee."

Seems to me that when you start the game, and certainly one as important as this, so flat, that it's a coaching failure to prepare the team emotionally. I realize not all teams/players respond well to being pumped emotionally before a game but if I had to lay odds...that's the way to go. Jacked and playing with a sense of urgency, not panic,...positive emotion can create miracles and motivate team mates while the lack of it just looks forward to the end of the game.

This should be a regular knock down drag out by all appearances. The Sioux have had success against the Gophers the last couple seasons and will certainly have confidence going into this one.
UND will obviously be a far bigger challenge. The Sioux have weapons, several weapons. Cannot be puttin' the Sioux on the man advantage. Give them a bunch of PP time and it's trouble.

I understand sand bagging, but c'mon! It's not like the UND women's team is a "national powerhouse". :D
