2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

If no one saw it why would the light go on or ref point. That is the point of the review.

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

Wow...Michigan State has a puck slide through the goal crease...so close to knotting it up at 1.

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

Good job so far. Welsh was the tourney MVP in AC.

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

Saw this on Twitter -

@paulacweston The NCAA rule says that the net must be totally flat so I guess that counts as dislodged. Lame, but correct I guess.

That is exactly what this ruling seems to be based on. Technically, the official can blow any play dead the second the net is knocked off in any way, in any amount at all. And yes, it is correct that a lot of goals could be retroactively disallowed by that. They really need clarity on this intent to blow thing and directly correlate it to the net dislodge standards. I'm surprised they didn't do so after the high profile incident in the BU-Lowell HE Championship game.

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

MSU goie was crying interference, he had an argument on the first shot not on the goal

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

This is assuming that Shep and Hunt know what the rules are...pretty risky if you ask me.
And it begs the question of why they didn't penalize the Union player for dislodging the net. That's textbook delay of game.

If it's on Union, it never gets called. If it's on the other team, they call it every time.

Beautiful play by union Defense stopping a breakaway

That's what us in the WCHA say about North Dakota

What would happen if they met in the finals? The refs would have to call everything, yet call nothing.

FS 23 needs to develope a formula to anlayze this :D

Re: 2012 East Regional Semifinal: #1 Union vs. #4 Michigan State

puck goes out of play...

5:31 left in the 2nd

2-0 Union

Union is dominating control of this game right now.
